We studied the effect of the H2S and the H2 partial pressures on the competitive HDN of aniline and lndde over a NiMoP-yAl203 catalyst. The reactions were carried out with a continuous-flow reactor at 5 MPa and 573 K. Our results confirm that H2S has a promoting effect on the C-N bond cleavage and a detrimental effect on hydrogenation but, in contrast to what Is reported ih the literature, we found that the global effect of H2S on nitrogen removal Is negatlve. We explained thls difference by the fact that, in our experiments, HDN is controlled by the hydrogenation function of the catalysts. H2 has an effect opposite to H2S and the parameter that can be considered is the ratio H2S/H2.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
