Os biomateriais poliméricos destacam-se devido à grande flexibilidade em adequar suas propriedades físicas, químicas, mecânicas, biológicas, processabilidade e possibilidade de utilização em situação variadas. Dentre os vários polímeros, a quitosana e o polivinilpirrolidona são promissores para o desenvolvimento de curativos, no entanto, possuem limitações das propriedades individualmente que podem ser otimizadas quando combinados. Diante disso, esta pesquisa busca avaliar as interações químicas de misturas PVP/Quitosana em diferentes concentrações e proporção de massa, por meio da modelagem e otimização experimental aplicando a metodologia de superfície de resposta (MSR) a partir da espectroscopia na região do infravermelho por transformada de Fourier (FTIR) dos polímeros puros. A partir dos espectros de FTIR dos polímeros puros foi observado os grupos funcionais característicos de ambos os polímeros que condizem com a literatura. Por meio do modelo linear aplicado foi determinado as interações químicas entre a quitosana e PVP K — 90 nas diferentes proporções e concentrações dos polímeros, e empregando a MSR com modelo composto central, foi verificado o comportamento da interação na mistura para as diferentes condições e como a proporção de massa na mistura e a concentração influencia. Diante do estudo observa-se que a simulação de interação química da mistura polimérica considerando o modelo linear e utilizando o modelo composto central de metodologia de superfície resposta foi satisfatório. A otimização experimental a partir da modelagem é promissora para o entendimento do comportamento da mistura, auxiliando no desenvolvimento de combinações e previsões das interações assim como possibilitando um aprimoramento de experimentos práticos.
