The recent decade evidenced a significant development in the construction of the CÀ S bond. The journey began with transitional-metal catalysis and reached sustainable catalysis via oxidant, photo, and electro catalyzed methods. A variety of catalytic systems have been explored for the CÀ S bond formation using a variety of sulfur precursors. This personal account provides an inclusive discussion of these developed methods in terms of reactivity, sustainability and productivity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
