In this study we evaluated the possibility that angiotensin-(1-7) [Ang-(1-7)] acts as an endogenous osmoregulatory peptide by determining the effect of acute administration of its selective antagonist [D-Ala7]Ang-(1-7) (A-779) on renal function parameters in rats. In addition, we investigated the physiological mechanisms involved in the antidiuretic effect of Ang-(1-7). The antidiuretic effect of Ang-(1-7) (40 pmol/0.05 mL per 100 g BW) in water-loaded rats was completely blocked by A-779 (vehicle-treated, 3.34 +/- 0.43 mL/h; Ang-(1-7), 1.48 +/- 0.23; A-779, 2.72 +/- 0.35; Ang-(1-7) plus A-779, 3.26 +/- 0.49). In contrast, the antidiuretic effect of Ang-(1-7) was not significantly changed by a vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist in a dose that completely blocked the antidiuresis produced by an equipotent dose of vasopressin. In addition, Ang-(1-7) administration did not significantly change vasopressin plasma levels in water-loaded rats. The antidiuretic effect of Ang-(1-7) in water-loaded rats was associated with a reduction of creatinine clearance (0.68 +/- 0.04 versus 1.38 +/- 0.32 mL/min in vehicle-treated rats, P <.05) and an increase in urine osmolality (266.8 +/- 32.7 versus 182.8 +/- 14 mOsm/kg in vehicle-treated rats, P <.05). An effect of Ang-(1-7) in tubular water transport was demonstrated in vitro by a fourfold increase in the hydraulic conductivity of inner medullary collecting ducts in the presence of 1 nmol/L Ang-(1-7). Subcutaneous administration of A-779 (2.3 to 9.2 nmol/100 g) produced a significant increase in urine volume (4.6 nmol/100 g, 0.45 +/- 0.12 mL/h; vehicle-treated rats, 0.16 +/- 0.03 mL/h; P <.05) comparable to that of acute administration of a vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist. The diuretic effect of A-779 was associated with an increase in creatinine clearance and decrease in urine osmolality. In contrast, no significant effects on urine volume were observed after systemic administration of angiotensin subtype 1 or 2 receptor antagonists (DuP 753 and CGP 42112A, respectively). These findings suggest that endogenous Ang-(1-7), acting on specific receptors, participates in the control of hydroelectrolyte balance by influencing especially water excretion.
Treatment with glibenclamide is associated with inhibition of neutrophil recruitment and amelioration of renal dysfunction following renal I/R. Glibenclamide may have a therapeutic role in the treatment of renal I/R injury, such as after renal transplantation.
OBJETIVO: Verificar o tempo ideal de execução da técnica de vibração sonorizada de língua necessário para interferir nas medidas de perturbação (do ciclo vibratório das pregas vocais) a curto prazo, de frequência fundamental (F0) e intensidade vocal. MÉTODOS: Foram analisadas 43 voluntárias do sexo feminino, na faixa etária de 18 a 31 anos (média de 21,2). Elas foram submetidas a uma triagem realizada por uma fonoaudióloga e por uma médica otorrinolaringologista, para eliminação de possível patologia laríngea e/ou alteração vocal. Foi realizada a gravação de um [a] prolongado, antes da realização da técnica de vibração sonorizada de língua; e depois do primeiro, terceiro e quinto minuto de realização da mesma. Após a coleta dos dados foi realizada a análise acústica, através do software Vox Metria® 1.1, na qual se analisou a F0 média e sua variabilidade, intensidade média e medidas de perturbação a curto prazo. RESULTADOS: Houve aumento na F0 a partir de três minutos da execução da técnica e na intensidade a partir de um minuto. Houve diminuição do ruído a partir de três minutos de realização da técnica. Os parâmetros de variabilidade da F0, jitter, shimmer, nível de ruído glótico e irregularidade não apresentaram diferença entre os períodos comparados. CONCLUSÃO: A técnica de vibração sonorizada de língua foi mais efetiva a partir de três minutos. Os resultados obtidos confirmaram a eficácia da técnica, a qual é vastamente empregada na prática fonoaudiológica, delimitando o tempo ideal para a realização da mesma.
Resumo: Este trabalho apresenta o escopo e resultados da pesquisa “Formação no ensino superior: concepções e relevância da extensão universitária integrada ao ensino e a pesquisa”. Teve por objetivo apresentar a relação entre extensão universitária e a formação acadêmica e profissional bem como compreender as concepções, do ponto de vista de alunos extensionistas, sobre a extensão e sua prática no universo acadêmico. Os dados empíricos foram produzidos por meio de entrevistas semidirigidas com alunos de graduação em atividades de extensão e análise de projetos de extensão. Os resultados apontam para a compreensão da extensão como parte importante no processo de formação indicando um crescimento acadêmico, profissional e pessoal ao possibilitar o estímulo à reflexão entre teoria e prática e o conhecimento e interação com o social. University Extension and Formation in Higher Education Abstract: This article presents the scope and results of the investigation project “Formation in higher education: concepts and relevance of university extension integrated into teaching and research”. This project had the objective of verifying the relationship between university extension, the academic and professional formation, as well as understanding the concepts of extension and its practice in academia according to the students engaged in such activities. The empirical data were produced from the results of semi-structured interviews with undergraduates in extension activities and the analysis of extension projects. The results indicated that the understanding of extension is an important part of formation in higher education. Furthermore, the results led to the interpretation that academic, professional and personal growth allows for the perception that theory, practice, knowledge and social interaction are interrelated. The heptapeptide angiotensin-(1-7) is considered to be a biologically active endproduct of the renin-angiotensin system. This angiotensin, which is devoid of the most known actions of angiotensin II such as induction of drinking behavior and vasoconstriction, has several selective effects in the brain and periphery. In the present article we briefly review recent evidence for a physiological role of angiotensin-(1-7) in the control of hydroelectrolyte balance.
Abstract-The heptapeptide angiotensin (Ang)-(1-7) is currently considered one of the biologically active end products of the renin-angiotensin system. The formation of Ang-(1-7) by pathways independent of Ang II generation, the selectivity of its actions, and its peculiar property of exhibiting effects that are partially opposite of those of the parent compound, Ang II, confer a unique biochemical and functional profile to this peptide. In this article, we will review novel aspects of the biological actions of Ang-(1-7), dealing with its interaction with Ang II and kinins, especially in the kidney and blood vessels. Key Words: bradykinin Ⅲ renin-angiotensin system Ⅲ receptors, angiotensin T he heptapeptide angiotensin (Ang)-(1-7) is formed from Ang I and Ang II by tissue peptidases, including neutral endopeptidase (neprilysin), thimet oligopeptidase, prolylcarboxypeptidase, and prolyl-endopeptidase. 1 In addition, the possibility should be considered that at least in the kidney and heart, Ang-(1-7) could be formed from Ang I or Ang II by a pathway involving the ACE-related enzyme ACE2 2,3 ( Figure 1). Once formed, Ang-(1-7) is rapidly hydrolyzed, especially by ACE. 4 Therefore, in the presence of ACE inhibition, the levels of Ang-(1-7), which circulates in blood at concentrations close to those of Ang II, raises several-fold, 5 probably owing to both the increase in Ang I concentration and the decrease in Ang-(1-7) breakdown. The related observation that Ang-(1-7) can increase following long-term administration of angiotensin type 1 (AT 1 ) receptor blockers 1 raises the possibility that Ang-(1-7) contributes to the pharmacological effects of both ACE inhibitors and AT 1 receptor antagonists. Interactions between Ang-(1-7) and Kinins in Blood VesselsMost of the interactions between Ang-(1-7) and bradykinin (BK) have been reported to occur in blood vessels. 1,6 -11 There are 2 major types of interaction: potentiation of BK by Ang-(1-7) and mediation of the vascular actions of Ang-(1-7) by kinins, although the latter does not exclude the former. Potentiation of BK by Ang-(1-7) has been observed in conscious normotensive and hypertensive rats in terms of the BK hypotensive effect in the whole animal 1,6 or the vasodilating action of BK in rat mesenteric microvessels in situ. 1,7 Brosnihan and colleagues 8,9 have shown that preincubation of isolated dog coronary arteries with Ang-(1-7) increased the relaxation produced by BK. Similarly, Almeida et al 10 have shown that Ang-(1-7) at 2 nmol/L concentration increased the vasodilation produced by BK in isolated rat hearts. Interestingly, the venoconstriction produced by BK in rabbit endothelium denuded femoral vein was also potentiated by Ang-(1-7), 11 indicating that the BK potentiating activity of Ang- (1-7) is not an exclusively endothelium-dependent phenomenon. ResumoO presente artigo pretende relatar algumas das práticas informativas e educativas realizadas pelo Núcleo de Promoção da Saúde -NuPS, da Pró-reitoria de Extensão da PUC Minas. Além disso, discute o papel dessas práticas em saúde na contribuição para a inserção social, também entendida aqui como inserção urbana. Os recursos metodológicos utilizados pelo NuPS se baseiam no lúdico, distribuído em formatos como jogos, dinâmicas, teatro, histórias, roda de conversa, oficinas práticas, cinema com discussão orientada, oficina de contos, dentre outros, voltados para o público infantil e adolescente. As intervenções consistem em desenvolver a promoção da saúde em escolas, fundações, instituições e outros locais. Os resultados do trabalho desenvolvido possibilitam compreender saúde como fator inerente às ações que sejam eficazes e produtivas na área. A inserção urbana no campo da saúde se dá, sobretudo, quanto à possibilidade de o público atendido reproduzir o conhecimento adquirido para outros espaços de vivência. AbstractThis article aims to report some of the practical information and educational activities acquired by the Health Promotion Center -NuPS, made by the Pro-directory of extension of PUC Minas. Besides discussing the role of these health practices to contribute to the social inclusion, also understood as urban inclusion, this work aims to point out subsidies that corroborate the health education in the city of Belo Horizonte. Entering the field of urban health helps mainly with the possibility of the attended public to reproduce the information that was acquired in other living spaces. To do this study it uses up resources supported by the methodological novelty, distributed in formats such as differential games, dynamic, theater, stories, chat circles, practical workshops, film with discussion oriented, workshop of short stories, among others, aimed at the diverse audience. The interventions are to develop health promotion in schools, foundations, institutions and other locations. The results of the work allow to understand health as a factor inherent to the actions that are efficient and productive in the area. Thus, it is expected that this work will allow the understanding of health promotion and education while promoting social inclusion.
ResumoA atuação do psicólogo no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) se torna cada vez mais importante por sua capacidade de trabalhar o sujeito em diversos contextos. Dentro daquilo que se aprende enquanto graduando de Psicologia, o aluno deve estar apto a desenvolver a criticidade frente aos modos como a Psicologia se constrói e dentro da atual demanda dos profissionais dessa área. Uma revisão bibliográfica foi realizada, junto à análise dos ementários dos cursos de Psicologia de cinco universidades brasileiras, para averiguação do andamento do ensino voltado para a atuação do psicólogo no SUS. Esse assunto é pertinente pela necessidade de se formarem profissionais aptos para a atuação nesse sistema, de acordo com as proposições dos Ministérios da Saúde e da Educação e Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais. Evidenciou-se em nosso estudo que, nos cursos investigados, há pouco direcionamento da formação do psicólogo para o SUS, mas há grandes potencialidades para tal, exigindo-se adequações curriculares. AbstractThe role of the Psychologist in the Brazil's Unified Public Health System (SUS) becomes increasingly important, for its ability to work the subject in various contexts. Inside of what you learn while majoring in Psychology, the student should be able to develop the criticality in face of the ways Psychology is built and within the current demand of professionals in this area. A literature review was performed by the analysis of the different subjects of the Psychology courses of five Brazilian universities, to the progress of education focused on the role of the Psychologist in the (SUS). This topic is relevant because of the necessity to form professionals that are able to act in that system, according to the propositions of the Ministry of Health and Education and the Brazil's National Curriculum Guidelines (DCN). It was evident in our study that there is little targeting on the formation of psychologist for courses investigated, but there is great potential for such demanding curricular adjustments.
