Resumo: Neste artigo, procuramos pensar, a partir da análise de um programa radiofônico de grande audiência no Espírito Santo, o "Programa Jairo Maia",veiculado pela Rádio Gazeta AM, a constituição uma "comunidade de afeto" entre os ouvintes e a produção, identificados como uma "família" Para isso, apontamos as principais estratégias e táticas, no sentido proposto por Michel de Certeau, utilizadas pelos diversos agentes envolvidos nesse processo comunicativo, tomando como referência a perspectiva dialógica e o lugar de mediação exercido pelo locutor. A rádio Gazeta AM, do Espírito Santo, assim como outras emissoras de rádio no Brasil, se refere à relação que se estabelece entre seus funcionários (radialistas, produtores, redatores etc.) e seu público como sendo a de uma "família". A escolha desse termo não é aleatória: implica na interpretação de intimidade e partilha, traduzindo uma idéia de comunidade com laços estáveis de identidade e memória que, aparentemente, se colocariam em contradição com as práticas da massificação nas quais esses programas estão inseridos, marcadas pelo anonimato, pela sensação de impermanência e pela autoridade de quem detém os meios de produção. Como tal imbricação, aparentemente contraditória, se constitui?
