À l’école, les conceptions qu’ont les enseignants de la relation entre lecture et écriture influent sur les dispositifs didactiques mis en œuvre et l’évaluation. Pour mettre au jour la manière dont ils repèrent et interprètent les relations entre textes produits et ressources du scripteur, il a été demandé à vingt-et-un enseignants d’annoter deux versions d’un récit écrit par un élève de CM2 – la seconde version ayant été rédigée avec l’aide de textes littéraires. L’analyse des données s’est intéressée à la façon dont les enseignants décèlent et évaluent les changements opérés entre les deux versions et repèrent les matériaux récupérés par le scripteur à partir des textes mis à sa disposition, puis définissent ces matériaux et caractérisent le type de transformation subi. La cartographie des critères retenus par les enseignants pour comparer les versions entre elles, et avec le corpus, montre des divergences sur l’effet des emprunts opérés par le scripteur, mais aussi des focalisations convergentes portant sur la structuration de la narration, sur la manière dont le lexique contribue à la création d’un univers fictionnel, sur la vraisemblance et la cohérence. Les enseignants sont conduits à émettre des commentaires et des hypothèses sur le déjà-là culturel de l’élève et sa capacité à emprunter aux textes littéraires. Cette étude montre encore les représentations des enseignants amenés à évaluer la place attribuée à l’invention et à l’influence intertextuelle, lorsque se dessine une tentation du littéraire chez le scripteur apprenant.
Résumé: La pratique de la rédaction dès le début de la scolarité se met en place en France officiellement à partir de 1880. Toutefois, son enseignement ne va pas s'imposer sans difficulté. En effet, les programmes donnent des directives parfois contradictoires et les procédures mises en place par les enseignants se révèlent partiellement inefficaces si bien que les résultats sont estimés trop faibles par l'Institution. Dans la bataille des idées qui conduit à une évolution des textes réglementaires mais aussi à des pratiques divergentes, quel a été le rôle des manuels ? Notre contribution se propose d'alimenter la réflexion sur les fonctions et la place des manuels dans l'enseignement de la rédaction à travers la comparaison de trois manuels scolaires à usage dans les classes de fin d'école primaire (cours moyen) au cours de la période allant de l'après-guerre jusqu'au « Plan de rénovation de l'enseignement du français » (1971). Écrit pour les adultes, le Robinson Crusoé de Daniel Defoe s’invite dans la littérature pour enfants. Il trouve sa place dans le catalogue de L’École des loisirs, dès 1977, avec une version réduite présentée par Bernard Noël. Une seconde version abrégée par Marie Pérouse-Battello est éditée en 2019. L’étude met en regard ces deux versions et compare trois chapitres significatifs avec celle de l’œuvre intégrale telle qu’elle résulte de la traduction de Pétrus Borel de 2019. L’étude qualitative se situe dans le cadre de l’analyse des discours pour saisir les transformations d’un discours source en discours cible. L’analyse de la seconde version permet de s’interroger sur les effets de l’abrègement dans la réception de l’œuvre et ses répercussions sur le rythme du récit et le portrait des personnages. Parce que cette forme d’adaptation, visuelle et verbale, est le plus souvent cachée, il appartient aux enseignants de la rendre didactiquement visible, afin que l’abrègement apparaisse comme une porte d’accès vers l’œuvre authentique.
