The article emphasizes the importance of senior education being a form of prevention from social exclusion. The first part is dedicated to basic terminology and the opportunities in senior education within the Czech Republic are also being defined. Particular attention is devoted to the risks associated with the period of the Covid-19 pandemic when the risk of social exclusion increased due to the impossibility of interaction with others, so the seniors often became a neglected group in social isolation.
The presence of the Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) in the wild of the Czech Republic has long been the subject of discussions between the nature conservation on the one hand and the production and sport fishermen on the other. The methodology of obtaining data on the otter abundance is one of the controversial issues as estimates of numbers presented by each party are vastly different, with nature conservationists reporting significantly lower numbers of otters than the fishermen. Therefore, this paper presents statistically recorded data on the development of harvest from the past times, obtained from both published and unpublished sources. The numbers of catches at least indicate the size of the former population and its changes.
The population of the wild boar (Sus scrofa) in the Czech Republic has been steadily increasing for the last 70 years. The only comparable tangible data are provided by the available harvest statistics. Disputes over the damage caused by wild boar are endless, and the dynamics of the species expansion have not yet been properly explained. The authors therefore present the harvest statistics as the only available data on which the wild boar population growth in the 20th century can be documented.
