At present, scientific research aims at interdisciplinary approach. In this article, we attempt to present the categories of ritual and game in two approaches: that of cultural anthropology and transactional analysis. We notice common areas of interest whose background can be, for example, the notion of deep play introduced by Clifford Geertz. On the one hand, it is a ritual activity from the anthropological point of view; on the other hand, and according to transactional analysis, it reveals a hidden dimension of human relations and makes it possible for these phenomena to be analysed and interpreted. We shall try and move the category of deep play onto the ground of pedagogy in order to indicate its possible application in research into the school everyday life.
