El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar los parámetros de validez y confiabilidad del cuestionario de evaluación de estrategias de aprendizaje de los estudiantes universitarios (CEVEAPEU) al aplicarlo a una muestra de estudiantes guatemaltecos. El diseño es no experimental, transversal con enfoque cuantitativo y alcance descriptivo. Se aplicó en una primera etapa como pilotaje a una muestra de 72 estudiantes del primer año para verificar la validez aparente. Posteriormente, a una muestra de 341 estudiantes de segundo y tercer año, ambas fueron muestras no probabilísticas. Se procedió a establecer el nivel de confiabilidad por medio del alfa de Cronbach, se obtuvo para el total del instrumento un α = 0.914. Con el programa Factor Analysis, se realizó el análisis factorial exploratorio de cada una de las seis subescalas para determinar la validez de constructo. Se aplicó una matriz de dispersión de correlaciones policóricas, con rotación Varimax. Se omitieron los ítems con cargas factoriales inferiores a 0.300 absolutas, o que no se agruparon en un factor que tuviera tres ítems como mínimo. El programa también brindó el alfa ordinal para cada uno de los factores por subescalas y se obtuvo una aproximación al análisis factorial confirmatorio con indicadores adecuados. Como resultado, de las seis subescalas, dos mostraron factores según el modelo teórico original, y cuatro de las seis difirieron, reduciéndose el número de factores y/o de ítems para la muestra de estudiantes guatemaltecos. El instrumento final, en esta aplicación, según cargas factoriales, quedó conformado por seis subescalas, 19 estrategias y 83 ítems.
El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar la relación entre las estrategias de aprendizaje que aplican los estudiantes del nivel de Formación General de la carrera de Médico y Cirujano de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC) y el rendimiento académico. Se enmarca en un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental transeccional. El alcance es correlacional. Las estrategias de aprendizaje se midieron con el Cuestionario de Evaluación de Estrategias de Aprendizaje de los Estudiantes Universitarios (CEVEAPEU) y el rendimiento académico se determinó con el promedio del año inmediato anterior que aprobó el estudiante. La muestra fue no probabilística y quedó constituida por 341 estudiantes de segundo y tercer año de la carrera. Los resultados de la correlación entre las estrategias de aprendizaje y el rendimiento académico fueron muy bajas, con un valor de rho(339) = .158, p = .004. De las 25 estrategias de aprendizaje que explora el CEVEAPEU mostraron una correlación con el rendimiento académico las siguientes: atribuciones externas; autoeficacia y expectativa; estado físico y anímico; planificación; autoevaluación; control y autorregualación y selección de la información. Las estrategias de aprendizaje mostraron relación con el rendimiento académico en el que intervienen diversos factores.
