A adiposidade é um processo irregular do tecido conjuntivo subcutâneo, e os adipócitos irão se apresentar aumentados em regiões específicas causando deformidade tecidual. O estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a ação do tratamento da radiofrequência na redução da adiposidade abdominal e sua influência na qualidade de vida e satisfação. Trata-se de um estudo experimental, analítico e quantitativo, realizado com onze estudantes do sexo feminino, com idade entre 18 e 25 anos. Foram realizadas dez sessões de radiofrequência, duas vezes por semana durante dois meses. Antes e após o tratamento foi aplicado o questionário Whoqol-Bref, as medidas de perimetria e adipometria e ao final uma escala Likert de satisfação. A análise da comparação das variáveis foi realizada através do Test de T Student demostrando após o tratamento a redução da perimetria da região supraumbilical de 2,64 cm (p = 0,005) e da região infraumbilical de 4,09 cm (p = 0,0004). A adipometria no pré e pós-tratamento com a radiofrequência apresentou redução de 2,96 mm (p = 0,0027). Concluindo que a radiofrequência é um tratamento que tem ação na redução da adiposidade abdominal localizada, promove uma resposta positiva na qualidade de vida e satisfação nas mulheres após o tratamento.Palavras-chave: adiposidade, mulheres, qualidade de vida, radiofrequência.
