El cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) es un cultivo que predomina en Latino América y Ecuador no es la excepción, dado que tiene una gran producción de las variedades CCN51 y fino y aroma. El objetivo de estudio es analizar los precios de ventas y las variables que influyen en el mismo a través de un análisis descriptivo – cuantitativo, el presente trabajo se enfoca en como el análisis de variables socioeconómicas y del sector cacaotero cumplen un papel importante a la hora de fijarse el precio nacional y de exportación de la variedad de cacao CCN51 y precio nacional de cacao fino y de aroma en la provincia de Los Ríos – Ecuador.
Para ello se utilizaron series de tiempo para agrupar datos del sector tales como: superficie plantada (ha), superficie cosechada (ha), producción (t), y datos socioeconómicos de: Costo Canasta Básica, IPC, VAB, Balanza Comercial, PIB e Inflación, del mismo modo se analizó la correlación de variables y se identificó al modelo que más se ajusta por medio del que indica un alto nivel asociación, entre precio de exportación de cacao CCN51 y precio nacional de cacao fino y de aroma con una F de Fisher calculada (104,045).
