Das gilt nicht nur für die virusbedingten Mißbildungen, sondern auch für zahlreiche perinatale Todesfälle, die wir bislang nicht zu erklären vermochten. Unter diesen Infektionskrankheiten spielt die Listeriose eine bisher nur wenig beachtete Rolle. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Zooanthroponose, eine Erkrankung, die vom Tier auf den Menschen übertragen werden kann.
Zur Diagnostik der ListerioseDer Erreger, Listeria monocytogenes, gehört zur Familie Corynebacteriaceae. Es handelt sich um ein grampositives Stäbchen, das Geißeln trägt. Die Größenordnung liegt etwa bei 1 bis 2 Mikron Länge und 0,5 Mikron Dicke. Der Keim läßt sich sowohl in den Körperflüssigkeiten als auch auf den Schleimhäuten sowie in den Exkreten nachweisen. Man findet ihn in charakteristischen Granulomen, die im Verlauf einer Sepsis in allen Organen auftreten können. Die bakteriologische Diagnose gelingt relativ leicht im Mekonium und in den Granulomen.
