The study aims at knowing the experiences of family members of people with mental disorders in small-sized counties in the countryside of the state of Paraíba, Brazil. This is an exploratory research with qualitative approach made with 14 family members of people with mental disorders. The data collection took place in February and March 2013 through the technique of oral history of life guided by a semi-structured interview. For data analysis, we used the thematic content analysis. The results showed a significant suffering and difficulties of family members in the care of people with mental disorders, once they feel alone, most often without a family, political or professional support. The overload of these family members was evidenced by the occurrence of chronic diseases, the use of medications, and marital separation. The improvement of the existing health services and the formulation of county policies can promote a better quality of life to these subjects.
Introduction: Adolescence is a stage is which several transformations occur in the individual's body, besides being the period of greatest vulnerability to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), especially HIV/ AIDS, as sexuality and the search for pleasure are salient features of the adolescent individuals. Objective: Identify the sources of information about STI/HIV/AIDS used by adolescent students. Method: This is an exploratory, descriptive and transversal field study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in a public high school, located in the urban area of the municipality of Cajazeiras/PB, with 188 adolescents of a population base of 288 students, between the months of February and March 2015. The data was collected during the school term period, by means of a previously elaborated questionnaire, and analyzed with the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) for Windows, version 21. Results: 188 adolescents took part in this study, of whom the majority was composed of the female individuals, aged between 17 and 19 years, self-declared black or brown-skinned , without a partner , catholic, with a family income of up to a minimum salary and who
Objetivo: analisar o conceito “avaliação em saúde” nas produções científicas brasileiras na perspectiva evolucionária de Rodgers. Método: estudo descritivo, realizado a partir do método evolucionário de Rodgers. A coleta de dados ocorreu em setembro de 2020 no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior. Os dados quantitativos foram analisados a partir de estatística descritiva simples e os conceitos com o suporte do IRAMUTEQ. Resultados: a amostra foi composta por 49 estudos, predominantemente dissertações produzidas por enfermeiros, nos anos de 2016 e 2017. Os antecedentes, atributos e consequentes do conceito analisado estavam presentes em 93,9% dos estudos avaliados. Os termos substitutos e os conceitos relacionados foram identificados em 18,4% e 77,5% dos estudos, respectivamente. Considerações Finais: este conceito relaciona-se à gestão da saúde a partir de julgamentos com critérios bem estabelecidos, tomadas de decisões e intervenções nos processos de trabalho em saúde. A análise deste conceito permite suporte para consolidação do conhecimento e aperfeiçoamento dos processos de trabalho que o utilizam.
