Interventions via the Internet are promising regarding the promotion of healthy habits among youth. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of an adapted version of StayingFit to promote healthy eating habits and the measurement adequacy of anthropometric markers among adolescents. A web school-based 12-month cluster-randomized controlled trial examining 7th to 9th grade students was conducted in twelve schools in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The schools’ students were randomly distributed into the intervention and control groups. The intervention group participated in StayingFit, an online program designed to encourage and guide healthy eating habits and control body weight. Data on food consumption, anthropometry, physical activity level, and sedentary behavior were collected from all of the students at the beginning of and after the 12-month study. Demographic and socioeconomic data were collected at baseline. The baseline data indicated high rates of overweight (14.4% overweight and 8.5% obese), insufficiently active (87.6%), and sedentary (63.7%). Furthermore, few adolescents regularly consumed fruits (18.8%) and vegetables/legumes (16.4%). Generalized estimating equations (GEEs) were used to evaluate the effect of the intervention. At the end of the follow-up period, students in the intervention group had a 43% increased chance of regularly consuming beans (OR = 1.43, 95% CIs = 1.10–1.86) and a 35% decreased chance of regularly consuming soft drinks (OR = 0.65, 95% CIs = 0.50–0.84). No differences were found between the groups studied with regard to the anthropometric parameters. Despite these modest results, the implementation of a web intervention can be beneficial and help promote positive changes in adolescent eating habits.

This study systematically reviewed the relationship between occupational risks and quality of life (QoL) and quality of work life (QWL) in hospitals. A systematic review was performed according to the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guide, and the protocol was submitted on the PROSPERO website (CRD 2019127865). The last search was performed in June 2021 by two independent reviewers in the main databases, a gray literature database, and a manual search (LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Scopus, Embase, Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, Ovid). As eligibility criteria, we included observational studies, with adult hospital workers, with no restrictions on date and language, any type of instrument to assess QoL and QWL, any definition of QoL and QWL, and studies that presented the relationship between exposure and outcome. Newcastle–Ottawa was used to assess the methodological quality and RTI-Item Bank to assess the risk of bias. Given the impossibility of performing a meta-analysis, a qualitative synthesis was used to present the results. Thus, 11 studies met the criteria and were included in the review, with 6923 individuals aged 18 to 64 years. The studies were mainly carried out with health professionals (81.81%), women (63.60%), and in Asian countries (63.63%). All studies used different instruments and ways to categorize the QoL and QWL, and occupational risks. Only one study assessed occupational noise and another the ergonomic risk. All of them presented a relationship between occupational risk and quality of work life. They pointed to the need for measures to improve the lives of these professionals in the work environment. Therefore, studies show a relationship between occupational risks (noise, ergonomics, and stress) and workers’ perception of low or moderate quality of work life. However, more homogeneous studies are necessary for instruments, conceptualization, and categorization of quality of work life.

Anorexia nervosa (AN) and restrained eating behavior (REB) are characterized by reduced food intake to achieve body weight loss. This scope review aimed to describe the existing evidence on the association between anorexia nervosa, restrictive eating behavior and food consumption. Studies with children and adolescents of both sexes of all races and ethnicities were included. Experimental and observational studies, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, case reports or series, conference abstracts, dissertations and theses were also included. The search was conducted in ten electronic databases and gray literature without language restriction on November 14, 2020. Twenty-four studies met the inclusion criteria. Most studies included girls and identified lower intake of calories, fat and certain micronutrients. There was also a higher intake of caffeine, fiber, vegetables, legumes and fruits and a lower intake of low-quality snack, fast food, sweets and foods with high carbohydrate and fat contents. The need to improve the quality of the diet among study participants was also identified. Thus, it is recommended that the evaluation of food consumption be careful to develop effective prevention strategies for the development of AN/REB and minimize nutritional deficiencies in these individuals.

A 3ª edição do Congresso Internacional de Estudantes e Profissionais da Saúde – DELTA SAÚDE, realizou-se de forma presencial no período de 04 a 06 de novembro de 2022, no Centro de Convenções do Hotel SESC Praia, Luis Correia, Piauí. O Delta Saúde 2022 trouxe como tema geral: “O pós-pandemia e os principais desafios da saúde global”; e as discussões foram norteadas pelos eixos centrais, a saber: a) Pandemia de COVID-19, b) Vigilância em Saúde, c) Saúde Pública e a Atenção Primária, d) Saúde Mental, e) Doenças Crônicas e Doenças Transmissíveis, f) Educação, Formação e Trabalho na Saúde, g) Inovação em Saúde, h) Eixos Transversais. O evento foi criado em 2017 e nesta edição alcançamos pelo menos 10 estados brasileiros em participação direta, palestrantes, convidados, além dos conferencistas internacionais on-line. Esta diversidade aliada a qualidade dos trabalhos apresentados, contribuiu de forma decisiva para o alcance dos objetivos do congresso que primam pela qualificação do ensino na saúde de acadêmicos e pósgraduandos, pelo fortalecimento das práticas profissionais nos serviços de saúde, e pelo incentivo à produção científica. A programação do evento foi composta por palestras nacionais e internacionais, mesas multidisciplinares, cursos livres, seminários, rodas de conversas, encontros e sessões de trabalhos com apresentações nas modalidades: Comunicações Orais e Pôsteres; e com publicação das pesquisas científicas nos Anais do congresso. O evento contou com 692 inscritos, e destes 42 foram palestrantes que abrilhantaram a programação do congresso. Recebemos 746 resumos para avaliação, e foram apresentados presencialmente 536 trabalhos, sendo 42 premiados com menção honrosa. O evento foi idealizado pela Sociedade Delta Científica e SBCSaúde, teve o apoio do SESC-PI e da Doity, além do apoio científico da FIOCRUZ Piauí, da Editora Pasteur, dos núcleos de pesquisa NUPCelt/UFPI, NAPsiTO/UFPI/UFDPar e NPPM/UFPI; e dos programas de residência multiprofissional RMSFC/UESPI e PRMSF/UFPI/UFDPar. O evento também contou com a parceria de empresas patrocinadoras e expositoras, que tiveram da Comissão Organizadora reciprocidade em suas demandas, a saber: Instituto UniEducacional, WM Saúde e The Nutri Store/PACCO.

O distanciamento social adotado para controle da COVID-19 obrigou Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) a aderirem a novas estratégias para realização das atividades acadêmicas e muitas pesquisas passaram a ser realizadas em ambientes virtuais. O objetivo deste artigo é descrever os aspectos metodológicos e principais desafios enfrentados para a execução do projeto COCASa, um estudo de coorte on-line sobre comportamento alimentar e saúde mental de docentes e discentes de IES do Brasil. O estudo foi iniciado em julho de 2020 e acompanhará os participantes por dois anos. Adotou-se amostragem não probabilística estratificada proporcional com a utilização de escalas, de inquérito alimentar e de questões estruturadas elaboradas pela equipe do projeto. Entre os participantes do baseline, 4.074 discentes e 2.210 docentes iniciaram o questionário e, respectivamente, 76,8% e 85,1% finalizaram o preenchimento. Em ambos os grupos, a maior participação foi de mulheres (docentes: 66,7% e discentes: 76,2%) e residentes nas regiões Nordeste (docentes: 37% e discentes: 50,9%) e Sul (docentes: 27,1% e discentes: 22,5%) do Brasil. A pesquisa on-line amplia a possibilidade de recrutamento de participantes e alcança limites territoriais com menor demanda por financiamento. Durante a pandemia da COVID-19, o uso do ambiente virtual tornou-se uma estratégia viável e acessível para a manutenção das atividades de pesquisa, configurando-se como uma provável tendência a ser adotada pela comunidade científica.
