El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar la adaptación y validación de la Escala de Claridad en el Autoconcepto para su uso con estudiantes universitarios. Se contó con la participación de 249 estudiantes de ambos sexos (61,0% mujeres) de distintas carreras de una universidad privada. Los estudiantes respondieron la Encuesta Revisada de Propósito Vital para Jóvenes, la Escala de Claridad en el Autoconcepto, y el Perfil de Autopercepción de Harter para Estudiantes Universitarios. Se realizó la retrotraducción de la escala, valoración de jueces expertos y prueba piloto. Se analizó la homogeneidad por medio de la correlación ítem-total corregida y la consistencia interna por medio del coeficiente Alpha de Cronbach. Se estudió la estructura interna por medio de Análisis Factorial Exploratorio. Se analizó la correlación entre la claridad en el autoconcepto, la autoestima global y la búsqueda e identificación de propósito vital. Se indagaron las diferencias en función de la edad y el género. Los resultados muestran que se ha logrado la adaptación de la escala para ser utilizadas con estudiantes universitarios. Se encontraron evidencias de una adecuada validez de contenido y buen funcionamiento de los ítems, validez factorial, de constructo y una buena confiabilidad.
Objetivo: Analizar la relación entre las experiencias en las actividades de disfrute, la claridad en el autoconcepto y la percepción de un futuro significativo en jóvenes que cursan estudios superiores durante la pandemia de covid-19. Método: Participantes: estudiantes (n = 228), de ambos sexos de distintas carreras de nivel superior de Buenos Aires. Instrumentos: Cuestionario sociodemográfico. Cuestionario de los posibles sí mismos. Escala de propósito vital para estudiantes universitarios. Escala de claridad en el autoconcepto. Escala de Disfrute en la Actividad. Escala de Autorrealización en la Actividad. Escala de Indicadores Físicos y Psicoemocionales de Estrés. Resultados: más de la mitad de los estudiantes (65,8 %) percibe grandes cambios en su actividad de disfrute durante la cuarentena, pero estos no se relacionan con la percepción de un futuro significativo. La claridad en el autoconcepto predice la probabilidad de alcanzar los posibles sí mismos deseados y la búsqueda de propósito vital. La claridad, el afecto positivo y la autorrealización predicen la identificación de propósito vital. Las variables estudiadas se asocian a menores síntomas de estrés. Conclusión: los resultados muestran la necesidad de favorecer estas experiencias, así como la exploración del autoconocimiento, valores e intereses, que promuevan la identificación de metas, como factor de protección frente a los efectos y consecuencias del contexto actual.
La forma en que los jóvenes se proyectan en el futuro es crucial para un desarrollo positivo y la continuidad de sus estudios universitarios. Este trabajo se propone analizar la relación entre el autoconcepto actual y la percepción de un futuro significativo, expresada en su percepción de sí mismos en el futuro y el sentido de propósito vital (PV), en jóvenes que inician sus estudios universitarios. Participaron estudiantes (n = 173), de ambos sexos, que asisten a una universidad privada de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Los estudiantes respondieron un Cuestionario sociodemográfico, el Perfil de Autopercepción para Estudiantes Universitarios, la Escala de claridad en el autoconcepto, el Cuestionario de los posibles sí mismos (PSs), y la Escala de propósito vital para jóvenes. Se encontró que las autopercepciones de dominio específico y la claridad en el autoconcepto son predictores de la probabilidad de alcanzar sus PSs deseados, y la búsqueda e identificación de PV. La autoestima global media estas relaciones. Este conocimiento permite pensar intervenciones destinadas a trabajar en el PV y los PSs de los estudiantes para aumentar su motivación y compromiso.
