RESUMOO presente estudo visa investigar e compreender a influência da dieta alimentar na anatomia da dentição decídua. Trata-se de um estudo realizado a partir de um levantamento bibliográfico, onde fez-se uma busca de artigos nas bases de dados PUBMED e SCIELO, utilizando como meios de avaliação artigos publicados nas línguas inglesa, espanhol e portuguesa e ordenados nos bancos de dados nos últimos 10 anos. Os resultados mostraram que certos alimentos poderão promover efeito erosivo sobre a estrutura dentária, principalmente, quando consumidos com certa frequência, dependendo do método de consumo e a forma que são consumidos, como, também, a depender do pH e acidez titulável do alimento, por avaliação de estudos conduzidos "in vitro" e "estudo transversal". Considerando que as crianças correm o risco de sofrer perda dentária devido o processo erosivo, o diagnóstico precoce e as medidas de prevenção adequadas podem evitar o tratamento restaurador prematuro e possíveis consequências advindas do desgaste dentário.
Mudanças vêm ocorrendo no mercado de trabalho em Odontologia, principalmente, pelo crescente no número de instituições de ensino superior que vêm surgindo no país. Em Fortaleza, capital do Estado do Ceará, essa realidade não é diferente, possuindo hoje a cidade oito instituições de ensino superior em Odontologia, cenário esse que pode provocar um colapso no mercado de trabalho odontológico, devido ao aumento progressivo de profissionais que estão sendo graduados anualmente. Diante desse cenário, o objetivo deste estudo foi conhecer o perfil de graduados e graduandos em Odontologia da cidade de Fortaleza-CE, investigando suas motivações e expectativas profissionais. Como metodologia, optou-se por um estudo de caso, cujos os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário, e observação não participante, para graduandos do primeiro ao décimo semestres, e para cirurgiões-dentistas já graduados na respectiva instituição, entre os anos de 2018 e 2019, totalizando a amostra 229 entrevistados. Os dados foram analisados qualitativamente, comparando-os com outros estudos já publicados. Os resultados revelaram que os entrevistados são predominantemente do gênero feminino, solteiros e com idade entre 17 a 25 anos. A escolha pelo curso de Odontologia foi motivada por vocação, seguido do desejo de estabilidade e influência da família. Em relação as expectativas profissionais, a grande maioria manifestou o desejo em realizar curso de pós-graduação e conciliar o trabalho em consultório próprio e no serviço público. Conclui-se que a maior expectativa dos entrevistados é trabalhar de forma independente, em seus consultórios odontológicos, podendo complementar sua renda através do serviço público ou privado. Existe a necessidade de fazer um acompanhamento do perfil desses graduados e graduandos, a fim de monitorar o alcance de suas expectativas profissionais e educação continuada.
As restaurações diretas apresentam boas propriedades mecânicas, porém quando utilizadas sem indicações em cavidades amplas, ficam susceptíveis a fraturas e ao desgaste, não apresentando sucesso e longevidade. Nesses casos o ideal é que sejam feitas restaurações indiretas do tipo inlay e onlay. Porém essa técnica possui uma etapa laboratorial, que demanda custo e tempo. Para tentar minimizar o custo e o tempo, e melhorar as propriedades da técnica direta, existem as restaurações SEMIDIRETAS. Objetivo: Relatar na forma de um caso clínico a confecção de uma restauração do tipo onlay pela técnica semidireta em um paciente atendido no complexo odontológico da unifametro. Caso clínico: Paciente de 32 anos do sexo Masculino apareceu na clínica odontológica da UNIFAMETRO, para substituição de restauração insatisfatória em dente posterior com ampla destruição coronária, foi removida a restauração anterior e realizada a moldagem da cavidade, após a obtenção do molde isolado, foi injetado o silicone de adição, após a polimerização do silicone de adição o mesmo é removido do molde, iniciando assim a restauração definitiva com resina composta, sobre o modelo obtido. Após a polimerização da resina composta, foi verificada a adaptação da peça na cavidade e realizado a cimentação com cimento resinoso Dual Relyx, após isso foi feito ajuste oclusal, acabamento e polimento. Conclusão: A técnica semidireta é uma opção de tratamento para restaurações em dentes posteriores, indicada para cavidades amplas, apresentando longevidade e menor custo, e dispensando etapa laboratorial, além de devolver a função e anatomia com mais detalhe do dente.

O termo osteointegração refere-se à ancoragem de um implante no tecido ósseo, de forma que esse implante possa suportar carga funcional, tanto na mastigação, deglutição, fala. O processo de osteointegração envolve vários mecanismos biológicos e o entendimento desses mecanismos e do papel da superfície dos implantes nesse processo, auxiliará o cirurgião dentista tanto na escolha dos implantes mais apropriados para os seus pacientes como no reconhecimento de problemas que possam surgir após a colocação de um implante. Através desse trabalho poderemos compreender como ocorre a osteointegração do implante ao osso. Porém, quando implantes são instalados imediatamente após a exodontia pode ocorrer ancoragem primária diminuída, atraso ou deficiência na evolução do processo de osteointegração. Isto ocorre em razão da ampla interface paredes circundantes do alvéolo/superfície do implante. A ancoragem nestas situações pode ser obtida por meio de enxerto ósseo, podendo ser autógeno, removidos do próprio paciente; alógenos, que são enxertos doados por uma outra pessoa ou xenógenos, são enxertos vindos de outra espécie que chamamos também de biomateriais. Logo, esse trabalho mostra, numa revisão de literatura, princípios de osteointegração e regeneração óssea guiada com uso de biomateriais e de membranas.
