Describe the perception of the ostomized individual about the experience with the intestinal ostomy. Qualitative research of patients with intestinal ostomies, the data collect occurred between January to February 2022. A semi-structured script was elaborated with broad questions that allowed the perception of the ostomized individual with the intestinal ostomy. Fourteen (100%) people with intestinal ostomy participated. The data analysis made it possible to identify three thematic nuclei: Impacts of Ostomy on Lifestyle; Illness Acceptance and Ostomization Care. In addition, this study is adequate for the perception of people with stomas and the need of teaching knowledge that transcends the biological aspects and value socio-affective skills and therapeutic relationships between health professionals and the patient.
