Celem artykułu jest określenie przewag komparatywnych w handlu towarowym czterech krajów ugrupowania CAN nad pięcioma krajami ugrupowania Mercosur w latach 2007–2017. Badanie poprzedzono omówieniem międzynarodowych obrotów towarowych CAN z Mercosur. Przeprowadzone badanie ujawniło przewagę komparatywną CAN w następujących segmentach klasyfikacji towarowej SITC: trzecim (surowce mineralne, smary i podobne materiały), ósmym (inne wyroby przemysłowe) oraz dziewiątym (inne wyroby niesklasyfikowane). Szczególnie wysoką wartość RCA w latach 2007–2017 odnotowano w przypadku segmentu trzeciego. Świadczy to o dużym znaczeniu towarów przemysłu wydobywczego dla gospodarek narodowych należących do CAN.
Celem artykułu jest ocenienie konkurencyjności krajów Andyjskiego Wspólnego Rynku – CAN (Kolumbia, Peru, Ekwador, Boliwia) w odniesieniu do handlu zagranicznego kawą i jej substytutami na rynku międzynarodowym w 1995 i 2019 r. W badaniu wykorzystano metodę analizy ilościowych wskaźników międzynarodowej pozycji konkurencyjnej ex post: RCA, IPR, RTA, LFI. Analiza wykazała, że w 1995 r. wszystkie kraje CAN miały silną przewagę komparatywną w handlu zagranicznym kawą i jej substytutami, przy czym relatywnie najwyższy poziom konkurencyjności na rynku międzynarodowym osiągnęła Kolumbia (wysokie indeksy RTA: 17,92 i LFI: 25,28). W 2019 r. przewagę komparatywną utraciły Boliwia (niski indeks RTA: –0,56) i Ekwador (RTA: –0,21).
Zatem obszar badawczy stanowią kraje członkowskie CAN: Kolumbia, Peru, Ekwador, Boliwia, Wenezuela, a zakres czasowy obejmuje lata 1976-2019. W celu zrealizowania głównego celu opracowania wykorzystano metodę analizy dostępnych materiałów statystycznych pobranych z bazy danych Komisji Gospodarczej Narodów Zjednoczonych ds. Ameryki Łacińskiej i Karaibów (CEPAL) i World Bank. Badając strukturę handlu zagranicznego CAN wykorzystano klasyfikację towarów SITC oraz indeks Herfindahla-Hirschmana (HHI).
Świadczy to o coraz większej atrakcyjności rynków CAN w skali międzynarodowej.
