Three Cases of Sandfly Fever Infection in Our RegionSandfly fever viruses lead to epidemics in the Mediterranean Region of Europe and our country. The virus belongs to the Phylebovirus genus, which is included in the Bunyaviridae family. Phelobotomine sandflies are responsible for transmission. The disease is generally seen in summer because of vector activity. Seropositivity has been detected as 30% in Turkey according to a seroprevalance study and this rate indicates that most of the patients infected with virus have not been diagnosed. Clinical and laboratory findings of the patients could mimic Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, which is also encountered in summer generally. We would like to present three patients infected with Sandfly fever virus to attract attention that the disease could be seen in our region.
