The purpose of this study is to explore novel concepts of light enhancement mechanisms and trans-illumination imaging techniques. Specifically, the impact of glucose molecules, amino acids and other polar molecules on the light beam profile enhancement characteristics of a trans-illumination system, such as beam intensity, contrast resolution, signal-to-noise ratio and signalto-background ratio have been studied, under a variety of experimental scenarios. The outcome of this study can be extended to a variety ofclinical and diagnostic applications and techniques.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
