Abstract"he sheath thicknesses and numbers of collisions from an infinite fluid model of the space between an atomic cold gas plasma and a planar wall are reported in dependence on the normalized ionisation, ion elastic and charge exchange collision frequences. The Bohm criterion validity, ion heating in double layer electric field, volume radiative recombination and related questions are discussed.
SummaryThe interpretation of the author's previously given results regarding the space charge sheath model between an infinite low temperature plasma composed of electrons, single charged ions and their parent gas and the planar floating wall is extended supposing dissociative recombination instead of the less probable radiative one while the normalized numerical results remain the same.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
