ZusammenfassungDie Mukoviszidose stellt als häufigste angeborene frühletale Stoffwechselerkrankung in Europa eine therapeutische Herausforderung dar. Die Verbesserung der Betreuung durch Maßnahmen der Qualitätssicherung ist daher von großer Bedeutung.Für diese Arbeit wurden die Krankheitsverläufe der Mukoviszidose-Patienten in Leipzig von 1980–2003 retrospektiv ausgewertet.Es wird gezeigt, dass eine konsequente Datensammlung und regelmäßige Auswertung die Betreuung von chronisch kranken Patienten verbessern können.Insgesamt wurden 1239 Patientenjahre und 10 149 ambulante Vorstellungstermine erfasst. Ausgewertet wurden Diagnosealter und Symptome bei Diagnosestellung, Gene-tik, Körpermaße, Lungenfunktionsuntersuchungen, mikrobiologische Befunde, Therapie und Dauer der stationären Behandlungen.Dadurch entstand für jeden betreuten Patienten ein individueller tabellarischer Verlaufsbogen, der durch den schnellen Überblick über Verlauf und klinischen Zustand des Patienten ein effektiveres Handeln ermöglicht. Die Übergabe eines Patienten an eine andere Ambulanz ohne Informationsverlust wurde ebenfalls möglich.
