Easy to fabricate planar micro-wire array printed on multilayer dielectric substrates arranged with the required lattice constant is shown to exhibit microwave plasma frequency. The presented micro-wire array acts as high pass spatial filter having plasma frequency as the cut off frequency with low loss over wide band. The characteristics of near zero İ above the plasma frequency is used to enhance the gain of the antenna by embedding the micro strip patch antenna in the near zero İ material. This is in accordance to Snell's law.Index terms -plasma frequency, metamaterials, micro-wire array, effective medium, antenna gain
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
