Since pyrazoles which are coupled to an indole moiety may have considerable biological activity, a series of title compounds of type (III), (V) and (VIII) is synthesized from the corresponding hydrazides of type (I).

Synthesis of Substituted 2,5-Bis(1,3,4-oxadiazolyl/thiadiazolyl/1,2,4triazolyl)indoles and Study of Their Biological Activities.-The dicarbohydrazides (I), which are generated by treatment of the corresponding diesters with hydrazine hydrate, easily undergo cycloaddition reactions to yield oxadiazoles, thiadiazoles and triazoles (37 examples).
