Voltage sags and swell are common in our supply systems. Adjustable Speed Drives are susceptible to voltage sags occurring due to faults in electric power systems. There are different techniques to enhance ride through capability of ASD's during voltage sag and swell conditions. These are aimed at maintaining the DC-link voltage constant by injecting energy from an external source. The Buck-Boost converter maintains the ASD dc bus voltage under sag and swells conditions. In this paper, simulation results are presented for the verification of the proposed Buck-Boost converter topology. Buck-Boost converter provides the ride-through capability during sag and swell.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
