As emerging technologies are being developed, ubiquitous computing environments will be established in the near future. Research on user service provisions over ubiquitous computing environments has been started. The implementation method of an actual service, based on our proposed service-provision framework, is described in this demonstration and we will show the actual implementation in a demonstration area. This is a context-aware contentprovision service, and the content is assumed to be commercial advertisements in a shopping mall. The users can enjoy many types of the content-provision services based on their own profiles, which are used by the authentication and access control agents.
IMT-2000 will start its services as early as 2001. Its services are supposed to include broadband, global, and multi-media services. As for the operation and management of IMT-2000, it is important to make the best use of Wideband CDMA technology. To do so, the observation of the traffic fluctuation and transmission conditions is indispensable. This paper proposes 1) an integrated architecture for a telecom management system and 2) its application to the IMT-2000 base transceiver station management system. The proposed architecture uses CORBA based operations support platform. The unified object model, work coordination facility, and common facilities provide the framework for information sharing and the cooperation between the operation systems. IMT-2000 specific management functions such as the GIS based layered data management function are also realized using the proposed architecture.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
