Angular dependences of the rotational excitation from ji=1 to jf=3 of H2 induced by electrons with a collision energy of 0.6 or 0.2 eV are presented. Comparison with different theories shows that adiabatic-nuclei approximations are no longer valid in this energy range whereas close-coupling and off-shell calculations can qualitatively reproduce the experimental results.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
