The paper describes experimental investigations of vertical reinforced soil walls. The structures were built at small scale, under laboratory conditions. Horizontal displacements on the surface of the walls were measured. The theoretical analysis of the experimental results is elaborated. The influence of two elements (reinforcement creep and reinforcement pullout) determining the magnitude and pattern of deformation are selected and described. Good agreement between the theory and experiments is obtained.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
