The essential oil of herb and fruits from Pastinaca sativa L. was analysed qualitatively and quantitatively by means of GLC, chemical and spectrometric methods. As main components of the essential oil of the herb the terpene hydrocnrbons cis-B and trans-8-ocimene, terpinolene, and trans-P-farnesene were identified besides y-palmitolactone, an up to the present unknown component o f essential oils. Additional minor amounts of several mono-and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, myristicine and a still unknown diterpene alcohol were detected. In the essential oil o f fruits the aliphatic esters butyl-, hexyl-, and decyl butyrate, decyl acetate and the free alcohols hexanol-(1) and decanol-(1) were identified besides oct e n 01-(I), the acetic-butyric-and caproic acid esters respectively, several terpene hydrocarbons and myristicine.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
