RESUMOO processo terapêutico é um procedimento científico em que são utilizados técnicas e testes psicológicos, podendo ser individual ou coletivo, com objetivo de intervenção psicológica mediante uma queixa. O principal objetivo desse processo é elucidar e elaborar conteúdos psicológicos, buscando classificar, prever e intervir no curso da queixa em questão. No caso da adoção e do conflito emocional, o processo terapêutico entra como importante instrumento no que concerne à compreensão e às estratégias a serem utilizadas para minimizar o sofrimento e a angústia. O presente trabalho trata-se de um relato de caso de uma criança adotada aos oito meses de vida, em que a principal queixa centralizou-se no comportamento agressivo e dificuldade em lidar com frustração. Os dados foram coletados e interpretados através do referencial psicanalítico winnicottiano. Os resultados obtidos no processo terapêutico evidenciaram condições ambientais adversas na fase de dependência absoluta, ocorrendo assim o comprometimento na integração da criança ao meio familiar e social. Isso se deu devido à criança ser gerada em um ambiente intrusivo, marcado por sérios desajustes, como situação de extrema pobreza, falta de uma gestação planejada e assistida e dependência química da mãe biológica. Observou-se também que a família adotiva não conseguiu desenvolver um ambiente no qual os conflitos inconscientes da criança pudessem ser elaborados, pois a colocavam no lugar de alguém que deveria ser poupado e atendido em seus anseios. Conclui-se que uma das possibilidades para um melhor desenvolvimento emocional dessa criança seria oferecer um ambiente facilitador que possibilitasse a resolução de tais conflitos.Palavras-chave: Adoção.
