Original scientific paper Image quality can be determined by using objective or subjective quality assessment methods. Objective methods are based on mathematical measures, such as PSNR, SSIM or RMSE and subjective testing is generally performed by asking the participants which of the given options they prefer or to give a quality score for the presented options. For each image quality evaluation, an image database is required. We developed a novel image database that consists of 30 images on which we applied some manipulations based on different quality parameters. First we conducted testing with the eye-tracking method: by showing images to test participants and measuring their eye movement, we received accurate information about how each of the image quality parameters affected the communication value of each image. The subjective quality assessment method we then employed involved the development of an application for crowdsourcing-based testing. Participants had to determine which of the images the best were. Finally, a correlation between both methods was determined.
"The phenomenon of paper coating cracking when folded was studied. Coating mixtures were compared according to their composition, applied on different base paper, to find which combinations of the constituents of the base paper and the paper coating results in a lower tendency towards fold cracking of the coating layer. It was shown that the appropriate selection of pigments (calcium carbonate, kaolin) and binders (starch, latex), whose elastic behavior extensively influences the deformation of paper under physical and mechanical stress, is of central importance. The choice of the base paper plays a significant role as well, it should have the longest and the most numerous cellulose fibers possible in order to avoid fiber breaks and inter- and intra-fiber connections. The content of inorganic substances has the greatest negative effect on deteriorating the physical-mechanical properties of the studied label papers, leading to the deposition of inorganic substances at the joints between the cellulose fibers and reducing their bonding."
Every chromogenic switchable window gives rise to considerable change of spectral power distribution of the light crossing trough. The filtered light continuously changes during charging/discharging of the device, seen as its coloration/discoloration. As this process occurs continuously, it causes continuous change of colors on an illuminated multicolored scene. The ability of an electrochromic (EC) switchable unit to modulate daylight and different artificial lights passing through it is studied here. The color rendering properties of such a variable light are evaluated. The range of the effect and its consequences on the color of a scene can be adequately described by the change in chroma and hue angle during the modulation of light. These effects were evaluated by different light sources shining through the same EC unit.
Blago smo potiskali s samimi fosforescenčnimi pigmenti in s fosforescenčnimi pigmenti v kombinaciji s fl uorescenčnimi in navadnimi barvnimi pigmenti. Poiskali smo optimalne pogoje tiskanja.
