Abstract:We were seen after the Kumamoto earthquakes based on the interview survey on the actual situation for park humane society in Kumamoto city after the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in April 2016 carried out by the joint research team. We gathered the facts about evacuation to small parks by private cars and the knowledge about the entry of private cars and the parking behaviors into the open space of the park. Evacuation in the park to the park at the stage immediately after the earthquake is not preferable in consideration of spread fire, but in the emergency stage, it can happen enough to evacuate by parking in the park for temporary evacuation. In the Kumamoto earthquakes, the timing to shift from the stage immediately after life for securing life to the emergency stage, which is the stage of life sustainment, is shorter than the assumption on the use of the conventional park, about 1 hour later. Also, we examined the idea of the basic unit of the area required for parking in the park in case of emergency.
