Abstract-A compact ultra-wideband (UWB) planar monopole antenna is proposed.Multiple trapezoids and a semicircle are connected to form the patch of the monopole. The compact antenna not only has low return loss, but also has omni-directional radiation pattern over the ultra-wide bandwidth. Both the simulated and measured results are given and they are in reasonable agreement. The group delay, which is an indication of linearity between two proposed antennas, is also good. Parametric analysis on the patch shape has been performed to give some helpful design information.
Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a powerful technology for high data rate short-range wireless communications and position location applications. The application of Time-reversal (TR) technology, due to its temporal and spatial focusing characteristic, can greatly improve the performance of UWB wireless communication. In order to take full advantage of TR-UWB technology, it is required to understand the propagation and channel properties of TR-UWB communications at first. In this paper, the properties of TR-UWB channel for indoor LOS scenario was evaluated by simulation. The performance of TR-UWB channel model is analyzed based on the parameters, such as power delay profile and the temporal dispersion properties.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
