Las actividades mineras generan frecuentes conflictos de carácter ambiental motivo de la presente investigación, para determinar la presencia de metales pesados, caracterización de suelos y percepción de los productores de la irrigación Canal N -Cupi, por la contaminación de los recursos naturales en el ámbito de la cuenca Llallimayo; para ello se recolectaron sistemáticamente muestras de suelos en dos zonas, A (bajo riego) con cultivos forrajeros Rye gras y avena, y B (no irrigada) con pastos naturales y avena; analizadas las muestras mediante el método EPA Method 200.8 Rev.5.4 1994 Suelo Agrícola y, análisis de caracterización Methods of análisis for soils, plants and Waters of California, División of agricultural sciences E.U.A.; interpretando los resultados de los análisis indican qué, el Mercurio con 259 y 249 mg/kg correspondientes a ambas zona superan los estándares de calidad ambiental (ECA) 6,6 mg/kg D.S. N° 011-2017-MINAM, y el análisis de caracterización calificando como: Textura franca y franco limosa, Materia Orgánica, Nitrógeno Total y Carbonatos bajos, pH moderadamente alcalinos en suelos irrigados y pastos naturales, ligeramente ácidos en suelos de avena bajo secano, Conductividad Eléctrica no salinos, Fósforo método Olsen medio, Potasio y Calcio altos, Magnesio medio, Sodio normal, Capacidad de Intercambio Catiónico alto en suelos irrigados bajo cultivo perenne y, medio en cultivo irrigado anual y en los no irrigados; concluyendo qué: el Mercurio Supera los ECA constituyendo un riesgo para el ambiente y la salud, suelos con fertilidad media, los productores perciben que las actividades mineras contaminan los recursos agua y suelos.
La investigación geográficamente se ubica en los distritos de Llallí y Cupi, Provincia de Melgar Región Puno, realizada en el periodo de agosto a diciembre de 2018; con el objetivo de: Realizar el análisis físico-químico en base a la temperatura, pH, conductividad eléctrica, cationes solubles, aniones solubles, solidos totales, alcalinidad y SAR para determinar su calidad, y, Evaluar la calidad de las aguas de la Irrigación Canal N del río Llallimayo del distrito de Cupi para determinar su aptitud para fines de riego. Las características fisicoquímicas y microbiológicas definen la calidad y aptitud de las aguas en función de parámetros y rangos de tolerancia establecidos para consumo humano, animal o agrícola. La mayoría de los conflictos suscitados en la microcuenca del río Llallimayo son por el uso y manejo del agua, los comuneros culpan a las actividades extractivas de la minería. Se recolectaron 06 muestras de agua, tres por curso, alto y bajo considerando como punto medio la represa Canal N del rio Llallimayo, respetando los protocolos y procedimientos para recojo de muestras de aguas, verificado el estado actual de los parámetros T°, pH, conductividad eléctrica, cationes, aniones, alcalinidad, sólidos totales, dureza Relación de Absorción de Sodio (SAR) y Carbonato Sódico Residual (SCR) mediante la Guía para la interpretación de la calidad del agua para riego Manual 29 de la FAO Water Quality for Agricultural. Los resultados más relevantes de acuerdo a la calificación Riverside corresponden a C1S2 con una CE. 0.331 mS/cm, RAS 8.17, CSR 2.17, STD 0.109 mg/l, Dureza Total 27.50, Alcalinidad Total 63.38, Nitratos 0.64 meq/l, concluyendo que: el agua clasifica como C1S2, CE sin peligro, RAS agua utilizable con precauciones, SCR no recomendable, tipo semidura y Diagrama L. La investigación se realizó en la irrigación Canal N, ubicada entre los distritos de Llalli y Cupi de la provincia de Melgar región Puno, a una Altitud de 3950.00 m.s.n.m. latitud este 294,911.378 norte 8343,943.106 irrigada por las aguas del río Llallimayo, con el objetivo de evaluar la calidad del agua para verificar la presencia de metales pesados de acuerdo a los Estándares de Calidad Ambiental (ECA) categoría 3 D.S. 004-2017-MINAM y su aptitud según normas Riverside; por los constantes conflictos socioambientales suscitados en la cuenca, atribuidos a las actividades realizadas por la empresa minera Aruntani SAC. Se recolectaron seis muestras, tres de aguas arriba (río) y tres aguas abajo red de distribución de la irrigación Canal N, para evaluar el contenido de metales pesados y parámetros fisicoquímicos como temperatura, pH, conductividad eléctrica, relación de adsorción de sodio y carbonato sódico residual, aplicando el método de ensayo acreditado Plasma acoplado inductivamente (ICP-OES) para metales pesados, y calificar su aptitud para el riego de vegetales y bebida para animales de acuerdo a los ECA y, normas Riverside nomograma. Ninguno de los metales pesados superó los ECA categoría 3 D1 y D2, por consiguiente, son aptas para riego y consumo animal; referente a la T° 11,47, pH 8,29, CE. 0,423 mhos/cm, RAS 11,42 y CSR 2,42 califican como C1 aceptable, S3 riesgosa y no recomendable respectivamente; Según el Nomograma de Riverside (USDA) califica como agua de buena calidad apta para riego.
