Introdução: Devido ao envelhecimento populacional, a grande incidência da obesidade e do sobrepeso e também aos maus hábitos alimentares a Diabetes se mostra uma importante preocupação para o universo medico e acadêmico, incluindo neste olhar os fatos complicadores causados por esta doença. Neste artigo destaca-se o Pé Diabético em idosos como problemática causada pela Diabetes. Objetivo: Apresentar produções que evidenciam a função enfermeiro na prevenção do pé diabético em idosos. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de revisão integrativa, com abordagem qualitativa, cujo a questão central da pesquisa foi: quais as produções que evidenciam o enfermeiro na prevenção do pé diabético em idosos com doenças crônicas? Resultados: Todos os artigos estudados concordam que o Pé diabético em idoso é um fator de risco elevado a morbidade e a diminuição da qualidade de vida e, desta forma, compromete diretamente a vida da população idosa portadora de diabetes melittus. Conclusões: O trabalho do profissional de enfermagem passa pela educação. No que diz respeito aos pacientes idosos com diabetes melittus e pé diabético a necessidade de informara a estes e a família quanto aos cuidados e a prevenção é fator determinante para a qualidade de vida e a própria longevidade do paciente. Portanto, educação para prevenção deve nortear as ações do enfermeiro no trato ao individuo idoso com diabetes melittus, com ou sem pé diabético.
