Le calendrier des procédures d'une part, celui des opérations de la mission d'autre part, n'ont pas permis leur participation. En compensation, la mission prévue pour 2013 devrait concentrer ses efforts de fouille sur les objectifs initialement envisagés par 1' 'équipe romaine'. Autour du directeur, la mission comportait comme archéologues Aksel Tibet, responsable des publications à l'IFEA d'Istanbul, et le Dr. Julie Patrier, post-doctorante, UMR 7044, Strasbourg, et boursière à la Eberhards Karls Universitât, Tubingen. Participaient également à la fouille comme archéologues-stagiaires deux doctorantes strasbourgeoises, Hiba Bizreh et Sarah Dermech. Françoise Laroche-Traunecker, architecte-archéologue de l'UMR 7044 avait, comme les années précédentes, la lourde responsabilité des relevés d'architecture et des divers travaux de consolidation et de mise en valeur des vestiges. Alexis Beyer et Ay §e Ôzkan étaient en charge du dessin du matériel archéologique. La réalisation des panneaux didactiques a en outre bénéficié des efforts d'Alexis Beyer. La mission a bénéficé de l'aide bienveillante et de la compréhension de son Temsilci, en l'occurrence de M. Vahap Kaya, du Musée des Civilisations anatoliennes d'Ankara. Comme les années précédentes, l'IFEA d'Istanbul nous a prêté l'indispensable véhicule qui rend toujours de multiples services. Que son nouveau directeur, M. Jean-François Pérouse, en soit vivement remercié.
Attesté depuis la publication de N. Özgüç en 1980, le sceau du roi Samsî-Addu n’était toujours pas connu dans son ensemble. Grâce à des photos encore inédites de deux documents de Mari, il est désormais possible d’en proposer une restitution presque complète et d’en proposer une étude détaillée. Après avoir exposé ses caractéristiques techniques, on analysera la titulature et l’iconographie développées par le souverain sur son sceau, traduisant probablement une volonté de la part de ce dernier de s’inscrire dans la lignée des rois paléo-assyriens et de souligner sa légitimité accordée par le dieu Aššur. Contrairement à ce que l’on pensait jusqu’ici, il semblerait également plus prudent de considérer qu’on ne connaît, pour le moment, qu’un seul sceau au nom de Samsî-Addu. Enfin, l’étude des documents sur lequel il apparaît montre que le roi l’utilisait autant pour sa correspondance que pour les envois officiels.
