Objetivo: identificar o consumo e hábitos alimentares de crianças de 2 a 6 anos de uma escola comunitária em um município no Nordeste do estado de Santa Catarina em tempos de COVID-19, no ano de 2020. Material e método: estudo transversal, descritivo, quantitativo. Participaram 30 responsáveis legais de crianças de 2 a 6 anos de idade. A coleta de dados foi realizada entre os meses de julho e agosto de 2020. Foi utilizado um formulário eletrônico e os dados obtidos foram analisados, inicialmente, de forma descritiva. Para verificar associação entre IMC, sexo e escolaridade foi utilizado teste Qui-quadrado e Exato de Fischer. Principais resultados: a média de idade das crianças foi de 4,33 anos ±1,30 anos. A amostra consistiu predominantemente do sexo feminino (70,0%), estudantes do período matutino (53,3%) e realizavam as refeições a mesa com a família (56,6%), quanto ao estado nutricional 30,0% apresentavam risco de sobrepeso/obesidade. Ao investigar-se a ingestão de alimentos ultraprocessados, houve associação significativa entre o sexo da criança (p=0,030) e escolaridade dos pais/responsáveis (p=0,030). Conclusão: torna-se necessário o desenvolvimento de medidas para o monitoramento contínuo do perfil nutricional de crianças e o desenvolvimento de ações interdisciplinares educativas, voltadas à promoção de hábitos saudáveis e à prevenção do excesso de peso, em especial, em momentos de crise, isolamento social e pandemia.
Objetivo: Avaliar o risco nutricional em pacientes graves e críticos com COVID-19 utilizando a ferramenta de triagem nutricional mNUTRIC escore. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo retrospectivo, com uma amostra total de 60 pacientes internados na UTI respiratória em um hospital público em Joinville, Santa Catarina, foram inclusos pacientes de ambos os sexos, com idade ≥18 anos, diagnosticada através do teste RT - PCR positivo, sob ventilação mecânica invasiva e em suporte nutricional via sonda enteral exclusiva. As características clínicas e informações antropométricas foram obtidas de prontuários eletrônicos e registros da nutrição. Resultados: Uma amostra de 60 pacientes com COVID-19 criticamente doentes foram incluídos no estudo, com média e idade entre 62,5 ± 24,5 anos. Com base no escore mNUTRIC da admissão na UTI, um alto risco nutricional (≥5 pontos) foi observado em 58% dos pacientes, enquanto um baixo risco nutricional (<5 pontos). A mortalidade na UTI foi maior no grupo de alto risco nutricional do que no grupo de baixo risco nutricional. Conclusão: A mNUTRIC escore se mostrou uma ferramenta útil e prática no que diz respeito à triagem de pacientes com COVID-19 em tratamento na unidade de terapia intensiva, podendo ser relevante na previsão de prognóstico para pacientes criticamente doentes. Também foi observado que pacientes com SDRA, o sobrepeso e a obesidade estão associadas a menor mortalidade, o que pode ser considerado como fator de proteção, ficando evidente o paradoxo da obesidade. Objetivo: identificar as reações comportamentais de crianças pré-escolares durante a vacinação com a utilização do brinquedo terapêutico instrucional. Método: estudo descritivo, transversal e quantitativo. Participaram 12 crianças de 3 a 6 anos, que foram vacinadas em uma clínica de imunização privada em Santa Catarina. Os dados foram coletados em três etapas: no preparo da criança para a vacinação, utilizando o brinquedo terapêutico instrucional durante a vacinação e após a vacinação. Resultados: das reações comportamentais na criança 9 obtiveram associações significativas com o teste Exato de Fischer: aproxima-se com facilidade do pesquisador (0,045); demonstra-se com medo dos brinquedos (0,018); brinca interativamente expressando suas emoções (0,045); assume e demonstra liderança (0,045); mostra-se seguro (0,045); demonstra alegria (0,045); atitudes verbalizadas (0,045); agarra-se ao cuidador (0,045); finge não ouvir o que o pesquisador está dizendo (0,018). Conclusão: as reações comportamentais positivas foram identificadas em crianças preparadas com o brinquedo terapêutico instrucional para a vacinação.
