No romance Lésbia (1890), de Maria Benedita Câmara Bormann (Délia), a protagonista Arabela se torna uma afamada escritora no Oitocentos brasileiro. A fim de compreender como esta personagem feminina ascende socialmente em um período de privações, fizemos uma pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a vida da mulher de elite no Brasil oitocentista (VERONA, 2013), delineando a relação entre as mulheres e a literatura (HAHNER, 2018) e o panorama do mercado editorial do século XIX (DUARTE, 2017; HALLEWELL, 2017). O presente artigo tem como objetivo traçar um breve histórico acerca da vida feminina no Brasil Império, com o intuito de entender como se estabeleceu o vínculo entre as mulheres e a escrita literária em nosso nascente mercado livreiro. Para tanto, analisamos o enredo do romance, salientando as dificuldades enfrentadas na carreira de escritora da protagonista, causadas, sobretudo, por sua condição enquanto mulher em um campo majoritariamente patriarcal. Por fim, observamos que a narrativa mescla História e ficção em descrições significativas da vida literária sob a perspectiva da mulher escritora no Oitocentos. Além disso, neste trabalho, intentamos valorizar a literatura feita por mulheres no século XIX e, assim, contribuir para o não apagamento de Bormann (Délia), uma das primeiras escritoras brasileiras.
Resumo: Introdução: A paralisia cerebral (PC) é uma das condições crónicas pediátricas mais comuns, impondo múltiplos desafios à vida das famílias, em particular, às mães, que assumem a maior parte dos cuidados da criança. No entanto, apesar das exigências associadas ao cuidado de uma criança com PC, a literatura tem demonstrado que os pais também possuem capacidades para enfrentar a adversidade. Objetivos: Compreender a experiência destas mães, explorando os fatores que, na sua perceção, contribuem para uma adaptação positiva. Métodos: Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo, com recurso a entrevistas semiestruturadas a 6 mães de crianças/adolescentes com PC. Os dados foram analisados recorrendo a uma análise temática. Resultados: Identificaram-se cinco grandes temas que evidenciam fatores importantes para a adaptação: (1) cooperação intrafamiliar; (2) rede de apoio; (3) perceção de competência; (4) pôr a PC "no seu lugar"; e (5) manutenção de uma visão positiva. Conclusões: A identificação destes temas permitiu evidenciar as forças e os recursos associados a uma trajetória adaptativa de mães de crianças/adolescentes com PC, traduzindo-se em pistas para a intervenção clínica e um ponto de partida para futuras investigações.
Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a escrita literária de Jane Austen e Virginia Woolf, sob uma perspectiva filosófico-feminista-psicanalítica visando clarear o questionamento: o que é a escrita feminina? Há verdadeiramente alguma diferença ou característica identificável de quando um texto é escrito por um homem ou por uma mulher? Para nortear esta análise, dialogar-se-á com Cixous, Beauvoir, Herrero, Kehl, dentre outros teóricos da filosofia feminista e da psicanálise.
Nosso artigo tem por objetivo investigar a circulação do romance camiliano Os brilhantes do brasileiro (1869) por meio de anúncios divulgados no Jornal do Commercio do Rio de Janeiro, bem como analisar essa narrativa que foi publicada - ao pé da página- na província do Pará, no jornal Diário de Belém na seção Folhetim. Tendo em vista a quantidade de livrarias que anunciavam essa narrativa, e também sua veiculação em destaque na seção Folhetim no Pará, podemos levantar hipóteses sobre o interesse dos leitores por essa obra camiliana. Portanto, saber e entender as obras de maior difusão social naquele século é importante para compreender o gosto dos leitores comuns, assim como identificar os livros com os quais os escritores da época disputavam no competitivo mercado editorial brasileiro da segunda metade do século XIX.
