A variação nas formas de tratamento da segunda pessoa do discurso dá margem a várias discussões (ainda) hoje. Com o conhecimento das bases teóricas que fundamentam a visão da ecologia da interação comunicativa (COUTO, 2014), este trabalho discute – sob a perspectiva do ecossistema social da língua – estratégias argumentativas e interacionais utilizadas por profissionais do Direito para justificar o uso de formas de tratamento em uma sentença judicial disponibilizada em sítios da internet e, em outro caso, durante uma sessão do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). Com base no arcabouço teórico proposto por Couto et al. (2016), a partir de uma perspectiva multimetodológica, embasada na Linguística Ecossistêmica Crítica (LEC), nas perspectivas das teorias da Sociolinguística Interacional, com autores como Kerbrat-Orecchioni (2006), Irvine (1978) Grácio (2010), Blommaert (2014), Ochs (1979), Levinson (1992), que envolvem conceitos sobre argumentação e da Análise da Conversação, o corpus foi analisado especificamente na parte recortada exposta em alguns sites de notícias – como Exame, Terra e Época – e plataformas de compartilhamento de conteúdos digitais – como Instagram e Twitter. A orientação metodológica é qualitativa, documental e bibliográfica, com coleta de dados de domínio público (meio virtual). A análise do corpus contempla resultados embasados em conceitos da área como diversidade, (des)harmonia, adaptação na linguagem, comunhão e sofrimento social – este último causado, principalmente, pela repercussão das críticas no meio virtual.
