The paper presents and discusses the problems associated with reactive power compensation of nonlinear loads. Analytical results and simulation studies for selected high power drive used in mine when apply dynamic compensation together with active harmonics filters are presented. It was found that application of active power filters allows for compensation high current harmonics in general, and suppression of as reactive power flows as well as current harmonics in the network. On the basis of results conclusions on efficiency of the active on-line compensation of non-linear loads of a high power are formulated.
Abstract. The paper presents basic theories of electrical power used to analyze phenomena in electric circuits with deformed waveforms of current and voltage. Discusses investigated results of application of an active power filter developed on the basis of concept of physical components of the current (CPC).
Abstract. The paper discusses the causes of distorted waveforms of currents and voltages in industrial electric power systems of low voltage. The ascending contribution of domestic and municipal customers, particularly office and as commercial as well as service and shopping centers where, non-linear loads and load phase unbalance are common, is indicated. Studies of voltage and current waveforms and their harmonics spectra at selected this type of facilities were carried out. The ability to compensate for the negative impact of low power consumer receivers using the active power filter has been demonstrated.
The paper analyses and examines the efficiency of non-linear reactive power compensation when use the active power filter controlled by an algorithm based on the theory of CPC. The developed physical model of 3-phase active filter has been presented and results of its performance in the system so the linear load and nonlinear RL type are discussed. Particular attention was put on its operation in transient conditions. Based on both simulation and investigation results appropriate practical conclusions are formulated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
