The objective of this research was to "Apply Ozone Technology in the treatment of leachates to reduce total organic compounds in the solid urban waste landfill in Cajamarca". Applied research was carried out at an experimental level. The population was represented by the leachates coming from the urban landfill of Cajamarca. Among the most outstanding results, it was found that the topography of the terrain increases the possibility of runoff into the landfill, putting at risk the nearby water bodies, as well as the soil and the environment. The physicochemical and biological parameters exceed the maximum allowable limits. The ozone technique was applied using portable equipment and showed an improvement in the concentrations of organic parameters of between 32% and 5%, with the greatest reduction in COD (from 1,031.3 mg/l to 702.5 mg/l). In reference to the true color of the water, an improvement of 54% was achieved, evidenced by a more clarified water. Finally, the biological parameters represented by total coliforms achieved a significant reduction. Ozone treatment achieved the elimination of biological agents by reducing them to 99.9%.
This article is based on studies that are part of the thesis called "Implementation of the Safety Program based on behavior -SBC, to increase safe behaviors in workers in the mining sector in Cajamarca", the same one that was carried out by the Mg. Pavel Rodriguez Portocarrero, with the advice of Mg. Julián Diaz Ruiz and the support of the Ph D. Marilú Calderón Célis. This study finds its principles in the Psychological current exposed during the 1890s called "behaviorism", the same one that provides the principles and foundations for the later development of the so-called "Behavior-Based Security", which from the year 1950 began to charge force in the industrial and mining fields, since it allows modifying the behavior of the labor force based on timely and effective interaction processes. The mining operation where this study was developed is located in the department of Cajamarca. The objective of this research lies in improving the performance of workers and the management of safety in the organization, thus generating a change in the culture of the workforce (attitude and behavior), to guide them towards adequate decision-making. During the present study, it was possible to include in the strategy the use of technology (smartphones) for reporting interactions, which significantly improved the performance of the "Observers". The knowledge of this research will allow the reader to identify the appropriate sequence for the implementation of the tool called "Behavior-Based Security", which will surely bring excellent results in improving the security indexes and in the actions of the collaborators at work and as individuals at home and in society.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
