Summary
The results of partial iridocyclectomy for pigmented iri/ciliary body tumours in 10 eyes are analysed. All surgery was performed with the aid of an operating microscope and was well tolerated in all but one eye. Complications were few, and mostly insignificant. The basis for the Melbourne Unit's active surgical approach to iris/ciliary body melanomas is explained with reference to several cases in which iridocyclectomy was not performed.
