Das im Herbst 2009 beim Metzler Verlag erschienene 436 Seiten starke Bourdieu-Handbuch setzt als neuntes Buch eine Reihe fort, die es sich zum Ziel gemacht hat, kompakt Leben, Werk und Wirkung von einflussreichen PhilosophInnen und SoziologInnen in einem Band zu vereinen (u. a. Kant, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Foucault, Arendt, Habermas). Dieser komplexen Aufgabe wird in einer Mischung aus Biographie, Werkübersicht, lexikalischem Begriffsglossar, Rezeptionsgeschichte und Aufarbeitung des intellektuellen Umfelds begegnet. Wie die Herausgeber Fröhlich und Rehbein in erfrischend persönlichem Ton in der Einleitung schildern, ist dies gerade bei Pierre Bourdieus gewaltigem Werk eine nicht zu unterschätzende Herausforderung. Zeichnet sich doch Bourdieus Oeuvre nicht nur durch seine quantitative Größe (insg. ca. 2300 Veröffentlichungen inkl. Übersetzungen und Wiederveröffentlichungen), sondern auch durch hohe sprachliche und inhaltliche Komplexität sowie eine breite Themenvielfalt aus. Das Handbuch ist grob in vier Teile gegliedert: Einflüsse, Begriffe, Werke und Rezeption. Jeder dieser Teile ist wiederum in eine Vielzahl an Unterkapiteln aufgesplittet: Unter Einflüsse findet man u. a. die wichtigsten Stationen von Bourdieus Biographie jeweils rückgekoppelt an die zentralen universitären und intellektuellen Lebensstationen. So zum Beispiel wie sich Bourdieus eigene habituelle Zerrissenheit (Herkunft aus einfachen Verhältnissen in der französischen Provinz und Aufstieg in den Bildungsolymp der Pariser Elitehochschule Ecole Normale Supérieure) in seinem lebenslangen Interesse für bildungs-und kultursoziologische Themen manifestierte. Sein erfolgreicher Werdegang vom Pariser Philosophen zum Ethnologen in Algerien und schließlich zum Soziologen der "Feinen Unterschiede" sowie zum politisch aktiven Intellektuellen wird detailliert beschrieben. Des Weiteren werden Bezüge zur Tradition der französischen Epistemologie, zu Cassirer und Durkheim, zu Elias, Foucault und Marx sowie zu Mauss, Weber und Wittgenstein hergestellt.Der nächste größere Teil des Handbuches widmet sich den Begriffen. Ausführlich versuchen die insgesamt 50 (!) Autoren und Autorinnen die zentralen Begriffe Bourdieus herauszugreifen und zu erklären. Nicht nur die populären Begriffe bzw. Konzepte wie Habitus, Feld, Kapital werden dargestellt, sondern in einer differenzierteren Auseinandersetzung mit Bourdieus Gedankengebäude schenkt man auch weniger bekannten, doch nicht weniger wichtigen Begriffen wie z. B. Autonomie, Hexis, Libido und Doxa Aufmerksamkeit. Unter den einzelnen Schlagworten findet man dann jeweils einen in sich geschlossenen Eintrag mit eigenem Literaturverzeichnis, der wiederum mit den anderen Beiträgen durch Verweise vernetzt ist. Besonders hilfreich ist auch die Tatsache, dass sich am Ende jedes Eintrags auch der Punkt Rezeption oder Kritik findet und somit jeder der dargestellten Begriffe abschließend kritischen Überlegungen ausgesetzt wird (z. B. Anschlussfähigkeit an andere zeitgenössische Debatten, Schwachpunkte, wichtige Ergänzungen etc.). Au...
Zusammenfassung Dieser Text nähert sich den Themen Vorurteile, Stereotype und Diskriminierung aus verschiedenen Perspektiven: Der theoretische Einstieg aus soziologischer Perspektive thematisiert den Sozialisationsprozess innerhalb der binären Geschlechter-und Begehrensordnung und referiert feministische und queere Kritiken. Daran schließt sich eine psychologische Perspektive an, die den heuristischen Wert des Konzeptes von Ambiguitätstoleranz im individuellen Umgang mit nicht erwartungskonformen Situationen auslotet. Schließlich wird mit einer empirischen Perspektive die Situation lsbt* Jugendlicher mit Hilfe von O-Tönen aus Fokusgruppen verdeutlicht, wobei auf drei häufige Eindeutigkeitsannahmen Bezug genommen wird. Der abschließende Ausblick zeigt, wie nur im interdisziplinären Zusammenwirken aller Perspektiven Vielfalt in Zukunft besser integriert werden kann.
