Este estudo objetiva identificar as práticas de divulgação de informações sobre segmentos operacionais apresentadas por empresas brasileiras. São abordados os anos de 2010 e 2011, sendo que a obrigatoriedade desse tipo de divulgação para as empresas abertas brasileiras iniciou-se em 2010. A pesquisa descritiva desenvolve-se a partir da análise do conteúdo das demonstrações contábeis das empresas, tendo como referência os requisitos constantes no Pronunciamento CPC 22. Os dados, referentes às demonstrações financeiras das empresas, são coletados no site da Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM). O estudo engloba 272 empresas ativas na BM&FBOVESPA, distribuídas em 20 setores econômicos, totalizando 544 demonstrações contábeis analisadas. Conclui-se que não houve uniformidade nas práticas de divulgação sobre segmentos de tais empresas, conforme esperado (dada a discricionariedade permitida pelo CPC 22). Identificam-se diferenças tanto nos tipos de informações divulgadas quanto nos níveis de detalhamento das mesmas. Algumas das empresas sequer mencionaram diretamente a existência de segmentos operacionais. Constata- se, ainda, que o nível de divulgação das empresas não explorou todos os pontos mencionados pelo Pronunciamento, e, desta forma, os resultados evidenciam que não houve total cumprimento dos requisitos do CPC 22 por parte dessas empresas, sendo as práticas de divulgação pouco detalhadas e superficiais em diversos aspectos.
RESUMOEste estudo tem como objetivo identificar, por meio da análise fatorial, os indicadores econômico-financeiros mais relevantes para a avaliação do desempenho das instituições financeiras bancárias. São englobadas 118 instituições financeiras bancárias com atividades no Brasil, ao longo dos anos de 2011 a 2014. Realiza-se um estudo quantitativo e descritivo. Para a análise dos dados, utiliza-se a técnica estatística de análise fatorial. No processo de aplicação da técnica, verificou-se a adequação geral do modelo e de cada uma das variáveis, de forma a identificar os principais indicadores que deverão compor as avaliações de instituições bancárias. O estudo foi desenvolvido a partir de um conjunto inicial de 17 indicadores, utilizados para analisar o desempenho econômico-financeiro de tais instituições.
Este estudo objetivou identificar fatores que influenciam a rentabilidade das instituições financeiras bancárias no Brasil. A pesquisa propôs a utilização da Modelagem de Equações Estruturais (SEM) para investigar tais fatores. A amostra foi composta por 150 instituições financeiras bancárias brasileiras, no período de 2012 a 2016. Para a análise dos dados, foi utilizada a SEM com o modelo de medição reflexivo. As variáveis empregadas para representar a rentabilidade foram o Retorno sobre Ativos (ROA) e o Retorno sobre o Patrimônio Líquido (ROE). Foram testadas 5 hipóteses, referentes às variáveis macroeconômicas, ao tamanho das instituições, à captação, à diversificação e às despesas operacionais. No modelo de mediação reflexiva ajustado no estudo, todos os critérios de avaliação foram atendidos, fornecendo suporte para a confiabilidade e validade das medidas reflexivas. Como resultados, observou-se que as variáveis latentes testadas explicam, de forma moderada, 20,5% da variância da rentabilidade. Das 5 hipóteses de pesquisa, 3 foram confirmadas. Concluiu-se que quanto maior a captação (capacidade da instituição de receber depósitos à vista), maior é a rentabilidade da instituição. A diversificação das fontes de receita também está positivamente relacionada à rentabilidade. Por outro lado, ficou evidente que quanto maiores são os gastos operacionais relativamente ao porte do banco, menos rentável é a instituição. Destaca-se que a captação se revelou, no modelo analisado, como o fator mais importante para explicar a rentabilidade das instituições financeiras bancárias brasileiras.
