Architect Zaha Hadid is known all over the world for breaking the statics of architecture in her projects. Her buildings have special plasticity; forms are fluid, walls vibrate, obeying invisible lines of movement. Each of the buildings created by Zaha Hadid has a unique artistic image and recognisable creative style. Into architecture, she brought not just "curves" of form but a completely tangible movement of matter. Best known for her work on the Guggenheim Museum in New York, she also left a significant creative mark in the Arab world. Her projects, which can be summarised under the term "architecture of the future", have found their place in 45 countries of the world and, of course, organically fit into the dynamically developing United Arab Emirates. Zaha Hadid created a unique author's style, recognisable all over the world. She did not try to fit architecture into space. She herself created this space and always went beyond the generally accepted. When asked by a journalist what the most challenging thing for her in the work of an architect was, Zaha Hadid replied: "Explaining to other people that, although they are used to rectangular buildings, this is far from the only way to conquer space". Hadid left most of her artistic legacy where she was born - in the Middle East. Her unique architecture and design have made a significant contribution to contemporary art and allowed us to raise our understanding of the possibilities of modern architecture to a new level.
The emergence of the World's Fairs was closely connected with construction and the industrial revolution - and the desire to showcase its achievements. At the Expo, people first saw much of what is now our everyday reality: from telephones, the first artificial satellite of the Earth and the Otis elevator to ice cream in a waffle cone. Expo 2020 allows us to look into our future and touch it, full of new technologies, different realities and respect for history and culture. Dubai Expo 2020 is the first World Expo in the Middle East and the first in the history (170 years) Expo where all of 192 participating countries have their own pavilions. If we add partner and thematic pavilions to this, we get a grandiose city of the future. The UAE, as the host country of the EXPO, has indeed become the centre of global peace for half a year. Leading experts from all over the world have rushed to the exhibition. Expo 2020 is an opportunity to see dozens of projects by the best architects and bureaus from all over the world at the same time.
Summary: The article is devoted to the analysis of the work of Alexander Burganov, an outstanding contemporary sculptor and graphic artist. The study of the categories of Space and Time on the example of his works is the main theme of the article. The author believes that Time and Space in Burganov’s work are unique categories and correspond to reality least of all; the author gives examples of specific works and convinces that Burganov has modeled a bright, recognizable, unique personal code with the help of sculptures, graphic works, texts, installations, and artistic gestures. Today, this is especially noticeable as the culture of the 21st century has sharpened and almost brought to a logical conclusion the awareness of artistic being, formed in the second half of the 20th century, and is now on the verge of new creative realities leading to conceptual discoveries in art. The author believes that the artist keenly captures the invisible waves emitted by the developing cultures and subcultures of the 21st century, in which a body devoid of naturalistic sensuality is coldly and symbolically akin to antique statues. The author pays great attention to the analysis of new materials in Burganov’s creative work, believing that the 21st century has brought great changes not only to the form but also to the substance of the bodies of statues and sculptural compositions. Marble is replaced with plastic, bronze coexists with gypsum, metal meshes surround voids and follow the movements of the wind. Paper on an iron frame is a rightful hero of this “Olympus”. It should be noted that there is no place for imitation. New material dictates its conditions for shaping and participates in the interpretation of a new image.Analyzing the contemporary space of culture, the author states that the experiences of European crises have brought into art restraint and minimalism, democracy and the idea of some kind of universal permissiveness in creating and judging art. However, the predominance of mass culture, which received a completely new face and opportunity owing to the virtual space spilled over reality, was the main marker of the culture of the early 21st century. Today, a mixture of styles and cultures, a combination of incongruous is a new reality introduced into our lives by virtual culture. The author emphasizes that it was this invisible space that Alexander Burganov could feel and has reflected in his work. This has made his works relevant and understandable to a new generation which almost does not feel the classics. The author concludes that Alexander Burganov’s work has become a kind of bridge connecting the worlds of classics and modernity, high and grassroots culture, myths and reality.
Al Noor Island is an oasis of calmness and tranquillity among the sea of high-rise buildings. It is the answer to the global challenge of creating fundamentally new urban spaces. The result is a 21st-century landscape garden on Al Noor Island, where technology meets nature, art meets landscape, and modernity meets tradition in a complex space. In the middle of Khalid Lagoon, the 2.4-hectare "island of light" has become a platform where residents and guests can interact with the city on an intellectual, emotional and physical level. Initiated by architect André Heller, the pavilion project was commissioned by the local government development authority, Shurooq, (Sharjah Investment and Development Authority), which gave architects, designers, artists complete freedom of ideas. Here architecture, design, flora, sound and graphics intersect, creating a new space that fully engages the audience, making them part of the overall experience. A former abandoned field in the city centre has been turned into a unique area. Al Noor Island has become an independent and significant art object in the Persian Gulf region.
