As estações de tratamento de água (ETA) têm o objetivo de garantir o fornecimento de água potável para a população. As configurações das ETA, podem variar dependo da qualidade da água recebida para o tratamento e posterior distribuição para a população, atendendo padrões descritos na legislação. Portanto objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma análise comparativas das ETA frequentemente observadas na Colômbia e no Brasil e comparar as principais diferenças. Observaram-se que a Colômbia e o Brasil realizam os processos convencionais de tratamento que são utilizados em todo o mundo, porém diferem em algumas etapas que realizam. Apesar de diferenciadas, a qualidade da água acaba sendo adequada para o consumo humano, atendendo as regulamentações estipuladas por cada país.
