In this paper, a LHCPSS based on the Pierrot cell has been theoretically studied and demonstrated experimentally. Design guidelines are given and an accurate fabrication process has been developed. Measurements of a fabricated prototype exhibit performance compliant with the requirements for space applications over a limited bandwidth. Axial ratio and insertion loss smaller than 1 dB and 0.5 dB, respectively, over a 7% bandwidth have been achieved at 9.8 GHz. Wider bandwidths with low axial ratio are possible by relaxing the requirements in terms of insertion loss. he carried out his research activities in the modeling and design of frequency selective surfaces and metamaterials, Fig. 16. Simulated and measured transmission characteristic of the fabricated LHCPSS under LCP (up) and RCP (down) incidence.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
