El desarrollo del proyecto, en gran medida, se posibilitó gracias al convenio de cooperación establecido entre la Universidad del Azuay y la Secretaría Técnica de Discapacidades del Ecuador, SETEDIS, organismo que, entre otras acciones facilitó la colaboración del Ministerio de Educación, y posibilitó el desarrollo de las actividades planificadas tanto a nivel local como nacional. La investigación fue realizada en el marco de la primera Maestría de Educación Básica Inclusiva, e involucró a los 26 maestrantes a través del desarrollo de sus respectivas tesis de grado, así como a 11 profesores del programa. Saber ¿qué?, ¿cuándo? y ¿cómo? trabajar con niños y niñas en edad inicial que presentan una dificultad motriz y que deben ser incluidos en un centro de desarrollo infantil, ha sido una preocupación constante de los docentes.
