Palabras clave: Sensores de fibra óptica, redes de sensores OPTICAL FIBER SENSORS NETWORK FOR DISASTER PREVENTIONAbstract: The optical fiber sensors offer low power consumption, allowing the measurement of physical, chemical and biological variables in a distributed way, taking advantage of different effects of propagation through the optical fiber. In this article, we describe the design of a network of optical fiber sensors to measure mountain slide displacements as a mechanism for disaster prevention. We analyze three sensing alternatives: Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) and the Brillouin effect. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
