Abstract-Teaching English as a foreign language has been focused on cultural aspects. Teachers studied English from their cultures and then they compare those with the target cultures. This was aimed to facilitate English students to communicate orally and in written, linguistically accurate and culturally appropriate. Therefore, this research study was aimed at developing English materials based on intercultural language learning for writing classes. To reach the maximal materials, the researchers applied need analysis to identify cultural materials based learning model that feeds students' needs and expectation. Based on the result of research study, students like cultural topics for their level, such as wedding ceremonies, historical buildings, and traditional music. These topics showed that the set of interculture-based instructional materials was appropriate to be utilized in the teaching of writing skills for English department students.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai karakter dalam fabel media daring di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data berasal dari web http://repositori.kemdikbud.go.id. kumpulan fabel Sulawesi Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik noninteraktif dengan melakukan pembacaan intensif pada fabel dan melakukan pencatatan secara aktif dengan metode analisis isi. Validitas data untuk menguji validitas penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi data dan triangulasi metode. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengikuti model Miles dan Huberman (1994), yaitu: (1) melakukan identifikasi fable sebagai objek penelitian, (2) melakukan reduksi data, (3) menyajikan data, (4) menginterpretasikan data yang diperoleh sesuai teori, dan (5) menyusun simpulan. Pendidikan karakter yang ditemukan ada empat belas yaitu: peduli, hormat, kerja sama, penolong, demokrasi, berbakti, rendah hati, kreatif, pemaaf, pemberani, disiplin, kerja keras, jujur, dan religius. Pendidikan karakter dalam fabel dapat diterapkan pada pembentukan karakter anak usia dini dengan pengasuhan anak usia dini (sejak bayi) dan pendidikan dini anak-anak dengan cara yang sejalan dengan orientasi perspektif anak, yaitu:1.Melihat anak itu sebagai pribadi; 2.Keikutsertaan yang empati dengan anak; 3.Sikap interpretatif menghormati anak ungkapan-ungkapan dan arti kehidupan dunia; 4.Membimbing anak dengan cara yang sensitif 5.Perawatan dini dan pendidikan adalah proses dialogis antara anak dan pengasuh/guru
Abstract The role of child reading in the formation of early childhood character is very important. So also the role of character education is needed by the government as the basis of education in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to explore the values of character education in the folktale and is role in the formation of personal early childhood. The approach used is the consept of childrens’s literature and character education. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with content analysis techniques. The source of data derived from the media compass that is a strory-theme tales character of the analyzed. The value of character education found in the folktales of “Suri Ikun and Two Bird’s” that is creative value, hardwork, helpers, appreciate achievement, positive attitude, and honesty value. This article deals the role of formal education in the process of enculturation, including six aspects: education and enculturation, educational policy in Indonesia, educational aspects as cultural phenomena, the functions of culture in education, the role of formal education in the process of enculturation, and the process of enculturation through formal education. The policy of equal right for education is designed to give equal opportunity to all people to get education without discrimination to any ethnic group. Education is an endeavour of developing the community culture to be a modern society, developed and harmonious based on the shared cultural values. Enculturation process is an attempt to guide someone's attitude and behaviour based on science and skill.
This paper describes the concept of religious character education organized for students in Accounting (prospective accountant) at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). The program is named Pendampingan Agama Islam (PAI). This paper explain the weaknesses and suggest improvements to the concept of PAI which has been run previously in UMY. This paper also presents various aspects of religious character education in Islamic perspective, such as: the design stage of activities, material formulation and execution model of the program. This paper is expected contributing in the formulation of the concept of education that is based on Islamic values, typically in the university environment, and as a reference literature for the development of educational studies of religious character, especially to the prospective accountant.
This study discuss contemporary feminist genres and innovative techniques PoyK and social issues, traditional and modern culture of women in the short story. Analysis of descriptive data through library data, relevant research journal articles, online newspapers, short story Fanny J. Poyk "Mince Woman from Notes," Kompas, December 3, 2017; "Belis is Dowry" Kompas January 10, 2016; and "One Day in Metromini" Republika November 12, 2017. Analysis of data on the search for Poyk feminism and social, traditional and modern cultural issues concerning women.The results this research show that the feminist genre in Poyk's imagery in his short story is radical feminism. Feminist movement that rejects parthiarchy. Mince out of the house and earn a living independently. Women have not been sold properly in households and the public sphere. From a cultural point of view there has been a throwback in the culture of marriage in NTT in deciding the wedding dowies 'Belis' have taken place in these modern times. Things that need to be paid attention to economies that demand others can live frugally and practically. Poyk's short story through characterization reflects the phenomenon of women who have gender inequality in terms of marginalization, subordination, stereotype, violence, and double burden. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas genre pemikiran feminis kontemporer serta teknik inovatif Poyk mengeksplorasi isu-isu sosial, budaya tradisional dan modern tentang perempuan dalam cerpen. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei deskriptif melalui sumber data perpustakaan, artikel jurnal penelitian yang relevan, koran daring, cerpen Fanny J. Poyk "Mince Perempuan dari Bukanase," Kompas, 3 Desember 2017; "Belis si Mas Kawin" Kompas 10 Januari 2016; dan "Suatu Hari di Dalam Metromini" Republika 12 November 2017. Analisis data difokuskan pada pemikiran feminism Poyk dan isu-isu sosial, budaya tradisional dan modern tentang perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genre feminis yang digunakan dalam imaji Poyk dalam cerpennya yaitu feminisme radikal. Gerakan feminisme yang menolak parthiarki. Tokoh Mince keluar rumah meninggalkan suaminya dan mencari penghidupan secara mandiri. Kaum perempuan belum memperoleh perlakuan yang layak dalam rumah tangga dan ranah publik. Dari segi budaya telah ada kelunturan dalam budaya pernikahan di NTT dalam penentuan mahar pernikahan "Belis" telah terjadi perbedaan atau perubahan pada jaman tradisional dan pada era modern ini. Hal mengingat tuntutan ekonomi yang menuntut orang lebih dapat hidup hemat dan praktis.Cerpen Poyk melalui penokohan, mencerminkan fenomena perempuan yang mengalami ketidakadilan gender dari segi marginalisasi, subordinasi, streotipe, kekerasan, dan beban kerja ganda.Kata Kunci: feminisme, cerpen, dan ketidakadilan gender.
The processing of Averrhoa bilimbi L, a plant that is widely developed in Aceh, into Averrhoa tea is expected to be one of the promising products of agricultural industry. This study aims to determine the sensory characteristics of the optimal Averrhoa bilimbi tea drink. Bilimbi tea is an innovation product from boiled water of dried candied bilimbi which has a strong sour and sweet taste. The variables studied were the amount of water added (X1) and the amount of tea added (X2). The treatment design carried out in this study included the addition of water (158.6 ml, 200 ml, 300 ml, 400 ml, and 441.4 ml);also, the addition of tea (1.6 gr, 2 gr, 3 gr, 4 gr, and 4.4 gr). The sensory characteristics analysed included colour, aroma, flavour, and aftertaste. The results of optimization of the bilimbi tea drink on colour at target level 6 (pleasure) and on flavour at target level 5 (somewhat pleasure) obtained by the composition of adding the amount of water by 181.82 ml and adding the amount of tea by 4.41 grams, also resulted in a composite desirability value of 0.93.
The use of the suffix ια is interesting to study. According to Buck and Petersen combined words in -ια, Ion. -ιη, and those in -ιӑ in the same list because of practical convenience and their interrelations in Greek. On the other side there are uses that actually have their own peculiarities. There are many substantives without connections with adjectives in -ιος because prehistoric substantivations may be surmised. Καρδίας (in genitive) is an example of old concrete substantives in -ια is related to Hittie gen. kardias. Words in -ιă or -įāreflect a type which in the other IE languages appears as an ī/yā stem such as in Sankrit (nom. devī, acc. devīm, gen. devyās, dat.devyāi, etc.).
